Tears Gator Tears

This dude is just goofy. I don’t know how that correlates to wins or what not but as the kids would say, it’s cringe.

Seriously, who gives a **** how much he could bench press when he was a player. Some kind of a weird deflection - this is not going to end well for them, but beautifully for us.

This guy has loser written all over him.

Here it is. The lengthy (and frothy) article that confirms all the things that you suspected about DJ Lagway, but could never fully articulate.

Never went to class. Isolated himself from his WRs at a Tyler-Van-Dyke level. Knew he was too hurt to play his freshman season. Collaborated with Slingblade Billy to lie to the world about his recovery time from FOUR injuries.

Oh, by the way, did you know that VENTURA is a swanky town north of Miami?

This article still makes me….shake my head. Total inept failure with everyone involved

Agreed. And I appreciate your new thumbnail photo...

Look, I think Lagway is talented. But between the typical Gator-fan-worship, the reactive isolation, the injuries, the lack of practice time, and Slingblade Billy trying to save his job for the last 2 years, it was a perfect ****storm of failure.

I know the hot-take crowd is eager to write off a kid like Lagway. The more important aspect is whether he has enough time in college (and the right environment) for him to heal both physically and developmentally.

I don't hate the kid...but this is what happens when you trust the wrong corch who was a G5 flash-in-the-pan.

They crowned DJ cause of arm strength, how many times has that happened in the history of cfb? Every **** time

There was a reason serious contenders did not recruit this dude, although Billy was terrible I dont think DJ is as special as what he has been told his whole life.

I legit also want to see some tape of DJ back in HS, I know the old saying players take on the persona of their HC but watching DJ and Billy in press conferences after the games they both had zero juice, zero emotion, just a glazed eye stare into the abyss. I never really followed DJ's recruitment but even on field he just never seemed overly engaged with his teammates or the game, just kinda like he was there. I wonder if that is just him, he isnt that leader by voice or action and he prefers to isolate or if that was a function of following billy.

He was begging for a UM offer, and I was happy then that we did not recruit him.

I think Lagway has it in him to be good. But if he were even a little self-aware, he wouldn't have gone to Baylor. He isn't a polished QB transfer like Beck, Ward or Mensah, he's a complete rebuild.

DJ should have sat behind another starter and rehabbed and trained the entire 2026 season. But at Baylor, Aranda needs Lagway to succeed right now as much as Napier did. Things could end very badly for him.
