Does FIU fan-base still have a message board?
They used to have one moderated by Herald FIU beat(off) reporter Pete Pelegrin.
Those pesky-Panthers tried so hard to get our attention, even referring to UM as UCG (University of Coral Gables).
I believe the Herald eventually canned Pelegrin.
Always wondered if he p!ssed off the wrong person.

I never followed FIU so can't tell you. Nearly all the beat writers in South Florida were trash. Matt Porter from the Palm Beach Post was okay (his predecessor Shandel was god-awful). He's covering sports for the Boston Globe now.... No idea about an FIU board.

The Jax State Dlineman and ESingleton look the part , everyone else is a JAG from there portal haul. Theyre losing their top 4 Dlineman and Top 3 Olineman ….theyre taking a step back unless Philo balls out.

I just don't see the vision. Fire the G5 guy who couldn't ever get his offense into second gear, and go and hire a coach who's a defensive mind and who's never really had an explosive offense. Also, with Napier, at least I could say that he built up UL Monroe. Sumrall inherited a great situation at Tulane, ala Mike Norvell when he took over the Memphis job from Justin Fuente.

It really is remarkable the level to which FSU has collapsed. Even at our low points in 2007, 2019, and 2022, we were never that bad. FSUs situation is about ten times worse. They have a financial problem they don’t have the resources to currently solve. It’s why they’re so desperate to get their hospital system going. They need a new revenue stream. They don’t have the boosters or pockets to compete with the big boys. Not to mention the tens of millions the poured into facilities before this season. There’s even posters over there saying that our own NIL budget for 1-2 players is higher than their entire budget. No easy choices. At best, assuming Norvell is out this year and they make a good HC hire, they won’t be relevant again until 2029 or 2030

Urban Meyer once said in an Interview, your Defensive Coordinator needs to your best coach on your Staff…..when I saw who Sumerall hired at DC , I knew he was Billy 2.0. Strickland basically pulled a bait and switch on there fans, he promised a coach from a Power Confernce…There boosters ,See it I’m guessing , so that’s why they had to go cheap on QB and portal additions. I imagine boosters won’t pony up for better Portal until Sumerall shows he’s a good coach.
