I thought they’d go for/end up with Golesh or Fisch…. Or even look into pulling Schumann from UGA. I wonder if there was any effort at all on those fronts??? Sounds like they were all in on Lane and had a limited back up plan.

I don’t remember seeing Schumann’s name, and I believe they waited so long to even contact Fisch that he got ****ed off. They really botched the whole thing.

I actually think Sumrall can coach football. It's just that his prior stops, both only two seasons, just don't translate to the UF job. He's won a ton of games previously, but so did Billy.

Fisch was the obvious hire to get them the 8-9 win stability pretty much every year.

I used to live near John in Lake Mary, saw him out at restaurants all the time with his kids.

Interesting! I have heard mixed things, people seem to either love him or hate him, but that’s how many people perceive lawyers anyway. I went to business school with a guy who worked in his Atlanta office and loved him.

I was just being sarcastic about the commercial though. I know what he was doing but I wasn’t a fan of it.

All I know is that we dodged a major bullet by not hiring Kiffin when we had the chance. He was my first choice, but those that said that he’s always looking for the next best thing were spot on. The way that he left Ole Miss and the way that he treated his staff and kids was buns. Dude is a loser.

If he doesn’t win bigly within 3 seasons those Cajuns will come after him with pitchforks and torches.
