Terrible fit. He’s anti-portal and NIL.Mark it down…Dabo to the Gators
I agree and I am just amusing myself with the thougt. He has a pedigree, gets to restart the clock, will have some grace to build though recruiting, Gator fans will spin it, Clemson's roster is a mess...Terrible fit. He’s anti-portal and NIL.
Who is this guy? Him?!My Bull Gator partner just came by. He said that their "plan" is coming to fruition.
This right after told the Ole Miss crowd the he was ***ing staying…he will need a bullet proof vest to ever coach a game in Oxford again..My Bull Gator partner just came by. He said that their "plan" is coming to fruition. I asked if LSU was now in the bidding and he said that Lane has already agreed to a six year $13M per contract and is just finishing out the season at Hottie Tottie. In addition, they have lined up $25M for NIL allowing Lane to sign whomever he wants from the transfer portal. He then blew all cred he may have had saying that they will have an Ohio State riviling roster next year. I laughed, but he did call the date of the firing and if Lane comes, well let's just say, he knows things and likes to brag. I asked if he was going to this year's bowl game and he gave me the finger.
I need this to be true and fall through in the worst way. Can you imagine...the deal was all set until LSU decided to drain the children's hospital drier than a sorority girl's pledging obligation at a frat house. I need UF left at the alter, holding their collective member, and looking likeMy Bull Gator partner just came by. He said that their "plan" is coming to fruition. I would take a chance on a G5 guy like Golesh over a proven bum like Brian Kelly.
Well yeah in that instance.I would take a chance on a G5 guy like Golesh over a proven bum like Brian Kelly.
I think with NIL you got to start looking at NFL position coaches or young coordinators that are cool with long recruiting days.
I'm right there with you.I don't know how many of those guys exist. The NFL is hiring coaches younger and younger. So the kind of guys you are after have less incentive to drop down to NCAAF to advance in their careers than they might have had previously. Part of the allure of NFL coaching jobs is you don't have to recruit.
I think if you want an NFL guy to come, you'll probably need to have the NFL org structure where the GM is really leading the scouting and talent acquisition efforts. I'm really interested to see what kind of operating models evolve in the next few years.
I think the days of college head coaches being the kings of their own little fiefdoms are coming to an end.
It’s just Josh Heupel’s offense. He’s 43-17 at UT and hasn’t won fewer than 9 games since his first 7-6 season. He’s recruited well though. Don’t know if Golesh is going to be able to attract the same types of playersI wouldn't touch Golesh, his offensive system isn't made to with the CFB, but it'll get you a 9-10 win team. Also, not sure of his recruiting chops.

Gone are the days people would poach Saban assts or even Dabo's.
Not a tone of excitement over Kirby Smarts.
