Tears Gator Tears

We’ve been there.

Who do you want as the next coach?
IF IT WAS ME

Treat the job like it’s “THE JOB” and shoot for the stars. Make Urban or Saban tell you NO. Obviously we KNOW they will say no, but then pivot.

You’ve SEEN us this season, our team can match up with anyone in the country cause the talent is there but they aren’t coached up offensively. Everything offensively is SOOOO hard for us.

I would like whoever is the next coach to be a CEO but but not neglect either side of the ball

I think that’s the best way to go these days anyway. Get a CEO-type that’s good at recruiting, and has the connections to bring in good coordinators to handle the offense and defense. There’s so much to handle these days, a HC is crazy to think they can also be OC or DC and do all the rest.

And yeah, UF has only been good at one side of the ball at a time since Urban. And weirdly, not always the side the HC is supposedly good at…that has to change with this next hire, or UCF and/or USF are coming.

Thats a terrible way to do it. Word always gets out that the school went down a wish list and got several "no's" and then when they hire the reasonable candidate that should have been their first choice, he is immediately viewed as the fallback option and has to walk into that ridiculous fan base with that hanging over him. It happened to the shark humper.
And the talent is only there at some positions. To me, the RBs are not elite level, and the OL is not anywhere near good enough. There are other issues as well but it's whatever. You lost to USF and only appeared to be close with LSU because they are putrid on offense. The game was never as close as the score led you to believe.
Good thing you are not in charge cause your idea is a small-time mentality that lacks the confidence to be able to find a good coach without having to hire a big name that will never come to your program.

Bigger problem imo are coaches who refuse to change. People criticize Mario rightfully for previous hires but he moves decisively and make changes, he dont claim he will double down. U see Billy doing it and even Dabo who had previous success refusing to adapt to the changing landscape. With how quickly the roster can turnover, you dont have 3, 4 years of fkn up. The recruits and fans will spaz out. Especially when they see FSU go 2-10 makes wholesale changes and thump Bama first game. So thats the most important thing for me. Ruthless coaches who change whats not working

I appreciate your opinion but I respectfully disagree. Because you were the 3rd option behind two of the greatest coaches of all time is no slight to whoever ends up in Gainesville next year. The thing is, you better nail the “fall back” option. THAT is the issue. Florida issue has been hiring a coach who basically only fixes the issues the previous coach left behind but is toooo stubborn to fix the issue(s) THEY create

You sound like my fellow Bears fans who have convinced themselves there's talent when there isn't.

Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over coaching decisions

Talent is there but Napier, since he’s the OC, makes stuff SOOO hard for us offensively. Getting a first down is a struggle lol.

Binnnnnngo. I kinda echo’d the same sentiment a few post above. A month ago if i told you through 3 games that our defense would only give up 2 touchdowns….you’d say we will probably be undefeated but here we are.

The fact that I bet with a straight face that him calling the plays is THE BEST thing for this team. Ridiculous big dawg

We'll find out Saturday about your defense. They've yet to play a team with a pulse on offense so I believe the defensive stats there are very misleading. Again it will play out Saturday but I think our fronts will overwhelm them and completely wear them down

Bruh stop being cordial. You know it, EYE know it, UM knows it, UF knows it. Miami will beat us next Saturday night.

We will hang around and make it feel competitive but ultimately we’ll just be out there….just “doing a thing” offensively and that will be that
