Tears Gator Tears

JD Pickell from On3 (I think that’s his name) has Florida beating Miami this year. His compelling reasons:

(1) Carson Beck will be in a new system (it’ll be game 4 by then???) therefore there will be some things to work out and the O won’t be up to speed.

(2) Florida is due a win against Miami

Wouldn’t you know it, he said the same thing last year except his reasons were:

(1) tHe SwAmP!!!!!!!
(2) Cam Ward will be in a new system so the O won’t be up to speed.
(3) Florida is the better team
Florida is due a win? Is that real sports journalism opinion? I swear media has gone so downhill

I don’t remember the exact words but the gist of it was that Florida was due a win/owed Miami some payback for last seasons game

This is just about the dumbest **** ever. As if there is some "Even Steven" principle that justifies a 50-50 split of wins and losses.

Florida is not "due" anything. We slaughtered The Gator last year ON THEIR HOME FIELD. It wasn't close. It wasn't decided by a fluke play or some random quirk of fate. They were beaten up and down the field and we injured several of their players.

Florida will be lucky to escape without a similar or worse beating this year. That's just a fact. Our defense is a lot better than it was last year, particularly if Ruben Bain plays for more than one series. So there is a substantial likelihood of DJ Lagway being forced to leave the game hurt.

Gator fans would rather talk about the ******* of a rival's head coach in his 50s than the bulging mangina on a Gator-alum football player in his 20s.

Just...pause...and think about that...

Yes.

1. He goes to South Paulding, which isn't "great", but they play some decent competition.
2. He is 6'6" and weighs 290, so he's got room to gain weight.
3. He's Top 100 overall.

What are we missing? Help me understand, @flagator86 ...
Either they don’t like his film or they have better rated guys. It’s one of the two. If they get desperate and do something bad at that position the offer will go out. He’s probably a plan Z kid for them, or they think he’s over rated

****, Miami should go after him if we don't land Kolojay.

He doesn't live far from me. I can talk to some people...

SIAP; but has he (Lagway) been cleared to play?

We’ve already discussed how DJ has a 9/9 TD/INT ratio against Division 1 opponents. But if you look at him on a game by game basis, the more he has to throw the ball, the worse he is. His most efficient games were all games where he either split time with Mertz or was not asked to throw the ball more than 20 times. He only had one game against an FBS opponent in which he threw more than 10 passes without an interception. He was already a sub 60% passer but his completion percentage is inflated by Samford, going 7/7 against Mississippi State and going 4/4 against UCF. When they actually relied on him to throw the ball, he was not only inaccurate, he threw interceptions

As a human being, I feel bad for the kid. I refuse to believe anyone wants to go through life like that. The kid has a real issue and needs help. Nobody in his life has heard of GLP-1s?

As a Miami fan what kind of candy *** S&C is UF running if that kid can survive it?
Ideally he should never have been allowed to get beyond 330 lbs. He’s not eight feet tall - that’s too much weight for his frame. By letting him get to that size, Florida appeared to show just how much they value the health and well being of their athletes as human beings. Keeping at a healthy weight should have been a condition to seeing the field and ultimately his scholarship.

To be fair, he could make a big jump from year one to year two, or year two to year three. Vince Young was absolutely middling his first two years at Texas before it clicked in year three. His year one stats were similar to Lagway.
