Tears Gator Tears

Been trying to have this conversation with as many Gator fans as I can. Everytime you bring it up, they just start throwing out "you just don't watch film". When I reply with, I did watch film and what I saw was some great athletic traits and a couple nice deep throws coupled with inconsistent decision making and mediocre accuracy to most other parts of the field, I either get blocked or they start tagging other gaytors to come to their rescue.

To go a step further, despite going 6-0 while he was a starter, it was in fact their defense playing at an elite level that lead to that and not their savior Midway, who threw for sub 60% on the year to go with 9 TDs and 9 Ints against P4 teams, and it gets even crazier the slurpage that is going on. Do people think Billy calling plays again this year is going to be a GOOD thing? It feels like all of Gainesville is basing their opinions on vibes and not what they saw on the offensive side of the ball.
What I seen was Jacoby Harris all over

Lagway DOES have talent.

IF he is fully healthy and IF the transfers Slingblade Billy brought to Hogtown are as productive as **** and Badger were in 2024, then I would expect to see much better QB stats.

But those are two big IFs.

Bookmarking this for after the Canes beat Lagway again

Is this guy serious??
Hellloooo….our defense gave up 25 more points per vs ranked opponents.
42/42 vs 16/17.
Forget the fact that Cam put up 31 in the 2 quarters he played vs ISU.

Statistically worse my ***.

Man, these guys are really reaching.

Dude comparing Lagway to the #1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft is silliness.
I like how they’re comparing the stats of the defense, and just ignoring the world of statistical difference of the players themselves. Sure. When comparing the two, it’s way more important how everyone else on the team performed. Now, how do their qb stats compare?

That’s the Gator trolls talking point this offseason, I’ve seen a few tweets about ranked opponents last year. It’s hard to come up with material when you lost by a bunch at home like they did.

Technically, Miami was 27th in total defense last year. They were also 70th in scoring defense
Weren’t we in the top 3 in total defense after the first 4 weeks?

Other than Louisville and Syracuse, our defense didn’t have to face any offensive juggernauts the last 2/3 of the season. Really didn’t matter as every team other than FSU and Wake still had their way with us offensively. Duke did to an extent until the 4th qtr. I’m actually surprised we finished 27th in total defense and not lower.

We had a weird habit of surrendering lots of points without giving up a ton of yards. There were games, especially at the end of the year where we were hopeless on defense but there were some weird numbers earlier in the year. Virginia Tech and Cal scored 34 and 38 points respectively despite not breaking 400 total yards. Georgia Tech also scored 28 with only 370 yards. Rush defense was also all over the place. How do you hold 11 opponents under 150 yards including 9 under 100 yards but give up 200 to VT and 270 to GT? For some reason technical universities knew how to run against us. Good thing we didn’t play Texas Tech.

That’s cause against cal and vt we gave up long interception returns

According to the Gator board, the announcement @flagator86 posted above indicated to them that Lagway is all healthy and good to go for fall. 🤣
Listening to the talking heads this morning they all had Lagway ranked in the top 5-6 in the country….just don’t see it unless that injury made him 200 % better …
