Any info on whether lagway is healed up from the shoulder issue? I personally think they’re gonna lean more on the run game this season and won’t be airing it out a ton.

Been trying to have this conversation with as many Gator fans as I can. Everytime you bring it up, they just start throwing out "you just don't watch film". When I reply with, I did watch film and what I saw was some great athletic traits and a couple nice deep throws coupled with inconsistent decision making and mediocre accuracy to most other parts of the field, I either get blocked or they start tagging other gaytors to come to their rescue.

To go a step further, despite going 6-0 while he was a starter, it was in fact their defense playing at an elite level that lead to that and not their savior Midway, who threw for sub 60% on the year to go with 9 TDs and 9 Ints against P4 teams, and it gets even crazier the slurpage that is going on. Do people think Billy calling plays again this year is going to be a GOOD thing? It feels like all of Gainesville is basing their opinions on vibes and not what they saw on the offensive side of the ball.

Reality will hit them even harder then.

Their support system is pushing the "Savior" theme at every chance. Meanwhile the money people are "saving" for buyouts..........................

OK, let's break Lagway's "6-0 as a starter" a bit more (and didn't he actually start the UGa game, so wouldn't he be 6-1?).

First, you had the SAMFORD game after Mertz was injured during the Miami game, causing Mertz to sit for Samford.

45-7. Very hard to have any takeaways here. The defense was not yet "improved", and the offense had to run up the score in the second half after only managing 14 points in the first half. The Gator would lose 4 of the next 7 after this massive win.

Second, you have the Kentucky game, after Mertz was knocked out for the season, and before Lagway was hurt early in the UGa game. Lagway would miss the rest of the UGa game and the Texas game.

48-20. Kentucky was better than SAMFORD, but still went 4-8 on the season. Not a lot to say here, and the Gator would lose the next 2 games before Lagway started the final four games of the season.

Finally, you have the last 4 games of the season, all of which Lagway started after losses to UGa and Texas.

LSU and Ole **** were ranked. F$U and Tulane (bowl game) were not ranked. Florida's defense allowed 16, 17, 11, and 8 in the final four games. Before that, in the preceding 9 games, the Gator had only held two teams to under 20 points, SAMFORD (7) and UCF (13). So 4 of the 6 best defensive performances of the year came in the final 3 regular season games and the bowl game against Tulane.

And it's not like the Gator offense was a juggernaut. Against good SEC teams, they scored 27 and 24. And against overmatched non-SEC teams, they scored 31 and 33. Nearly identical performances on offense.

In short, Lagway had 2 very good SEC games against LSU and Ole ****. That's it.
