I think a lot of it is going to depend on the recruiting class. They might be more quick to pull the trigger after a 7 or 8 win season if they’re outside the top 20 or so. It’s not looking good for him right now.

I think their little win streak was the worst possible thing that could have happened to them. They were ready to buy him out and move on but they’re fell for the short term grift and used that money to buy him a recruiting class. Anything that keeps that loser in Gainesville is good for us. Now they’re stuck with a proven loser for at least another year. He can’t sign anyone because the money isn’t there now. They lost a ton of proven defenders that carried the team last year and the freshman class they signed isn’t going to make an impact for at least another two years. They’re not going to be able to win games 24-17 this year.

Florida 2024 really reminds me of Miami 2021. Unproven Coach on a downward trajectory hits what seems like a jackpot with a new QB who over performs, causing his team to upset a few ranked teams and go on a season ending winning streak.

Difference between us is that we had Mario lined up for HC as early as October 2021, and Florida didn’t seem to have that level of interest. Also, our money people wanted Manny GONE.

Florida hasn’t won more than 8 games since 2019.

Let me repeat that…

SINCE 2019, FLORIDA HAS ONLY WON 8 OR FEWER GAMES EACH SEASON.

The 2020 season, of course, was coached by Mullen, and resulted in his firing. He went 8-4. However, he was NOT fired for the record, but for the fact that he refused to recruit. (Yes, I get that this affects the record, but Mullen did not recruit AT ALL. Like, didn’t lift a single pinky unless it was for bourbon.)

Billy’s seasons:
2021: 6-7
2022: 6-7
2023: 5-7
2024: 8-5

Now recall that the 2024 campaign was lauded a huge success and turnaround. Also recall that UF just this week announced their new president. And the boosters still want the AD gone.

Billy isn’t getting fired over 7-8 wins.
