I don't know enough about their board, or who/how the involvement in the search would shake out. I do know they have a new President, so that alone makes it hard to predict based on past errors.

They probably still won’t hire a beast, they are stuck in the mud like we were. They thought they got a recruiter in Billy but it was cap.

You know it’s bad when that’s the ceiling and with that you get a top 5 class. They stuck in the Manny era and don’t realize what they are saying. They are a battered wife right now saying he will change with 4 black eyes.

Can they afford to hire a legit coach if they do fire Billy? They’re still paying Mullin. They still would owe Billy a boatload of money. They’d essentially have to pay three head coaching salaries. They willing to break out another 8-10 million a year for a legit coach? They would have to hire a young guy with no recruiting ties and hope he can X and O them to a couple of decent seasons. They already went all in on an “ace recruiter” and got Billy. I don’t think they can afford to do that again.

No they can not afford it , they are going to keep sling blade until at least 26 before they fire him .
