This might be the most beta comment I've ever seen in a recruitment thread... "she let me buy her a drink and danced with me before she went home with another guy, so that's a win, right?"

DuvalGaytor is such a clueless moron.

He makes constant apples-to-oranges comparisons. Such as "FIU when Mario took over" vs. "FIU when Butch took over". Or "La-La before Gaypier" vs. "La-La with Gaypier".

Let's review, shall we...

FIU when Mario took over. Technically, FIU won 15 games in 5 years under Don Strock. Unfortunately, 10 of those victories were vacated.
---2002 - Don Strock - Independent - 5-6
---2003 - Don Strock - Independent - 2-10 (all wins vacated)
---2004 - Don Strock - Independent - 3-7 (all wins vacated)
---2005 - Don Strock - Sun Belt - 5-6 (all wins vacated)
---2006 - Don Strock - Sun Belt - 0-12 (no wins to vacate)

So Mario took over an FIU program that was winless in the season prior, that was only in existence for 5 years, and only in a conference for 2 years. Never once qualified for a bowl game, the BEST years were each 5-6 seasons.

And then Mario took them to first place in the conference and two bowl games. IN ADDITION TO getting FIU into a BETTER conference, Conference USA. Seems pretty impressive, in spite of the 27-47 record.

As for what Butch inherited at FIU, it might not have been the Taj Mahal, but he took over a team that was in Conference USA, that had an actual bowl game history, and had no looming NCAA sanctions. Where Butch went 23-21. So, you know, who am I to say, but it certainly seems like Mario did pretty well given the circumstances.

Footnote: In the 3 years prior to Mario taking over Oregon, the Ducks went 20-18, with one of the two preceding coaches being fired. Mario proceeded to go 35-12 in four years, with 2 Pac-12 championships and 4 bowl appearances.

Now let's compare Louisiana-Lafayette pre-Gaypier and with-Gaypier.
---2011 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 9-4 (8 wins vacated)
---2012 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 9-4 (4 wins vacated)
---2013 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 9-4 (8 wins vacated)
---2014 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 9-4 (2 wins vacated)
---2015 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 4-8
---2016 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 6-7
---2017 - Mark Hudspeth - Sun Belt - 5-7

Now, yes, Hudspeth got La-La into some hot water, but it was well over by the time Gaypier took over. Still, Hudspeth is a winner, he had a 66-21 record at North Alabama. La-La was nowhere near as bad (when Gaypier took over) as FIU was when Mario took over.

So Hudspeth went 51-38 for a .573 winning rate while Billy went 40-12 for a .769 winning rate. Not exactly some crazy turnaround.

What kind of nonsense is this?

"Frontloading" actually IS NIL. Rashada will be paid NIL money WHILE HE IS IN HIGH SCHOOL, which is legal in California.

I guess "frontloading" is the new Gaytor myth. You know, because they are such fine, upstanding citizens that they don't even BEGIN to pay NIL money until after a recruit has been enrolled at Florida for at least one semester.

Oh, and IGNORE everything they told you about the no-show Shands job and Hogtown housing they offered to Harold Perkins' mother. That's not "NIL" or "frontloading", that's just good old-fashioned "cheating".
