If you put it into context, it's an even dumber argument those clowns love to make. In the 3 years before Mario took over the program, Strock led FIU to 3-7, 5-6, and 0-12 records (2004-2006). That's 8-25 with a 24% win percentage. So not surprisingly, Mario went 1-11 in his first season at FIU (2007). But by 2010, he'd taken FIU to their first ever bowl game (and first ever bowl win). In 2011, FIU won its conference for the first time ever. The next season FIU regressed back towards their historic mean, going 3-9, and Pete Garcia made the foolish decision to let go of Coach Cristobal. Mario was 27-47 at FIU (a 36% win percentage).
Mario did the above with the football program down a few scholarships and under 4 years probation, because of some NCAA violations across three sports (basketball, baseball, and football) in the years just before Mario arrived.
So basically, Mario inherited a trash G5 program under NCAA probation and sanctions that went winless the year before he got there, and he managed to make it a little less trash.

These dummies!!! Miami (School’s) can’t Offer NIL deals! School’s (Including recruiting coordinator’s, as well as coaches) can’t comment on Specific NIL deals! NIL deals Are Not contracts between the Player and School! Geez!!
But but but what happened to the gata flips machine?
I like all kinds of pizza, but yes.
My Bull-shark-Gator partner just walked in and simply said, “**** Miami! And **** Napier too.” Life is good.
These Gator fans have the most self inflated opinions of their program and refuse to accept the reality ... even Finebaum put it out there in a loud voice .... "Miami is a big time brand and with the right coach and recruiting ... they will be a factor". At THIS MOMENT the two programs are on very distinct trajectories .... UM with one of the most experienced elite staffs in college football and UF .... a bargain basement collection for the most part of journey men hoping to make careers of coaching. Night and day difference.the "just wait until conference realignment, that will save us" is the ultimate corny fail....I can't even anymore...
come home Cormani....too much swag for those goofy *** mfers.
Posts like this crack me up the most. UF hasn’t won their conference in 14 years.... News flash, those metal bleachers aren’t saving your program just because you own them.
In their mind the Big Ten and SEC will not take Miami leaving us without a conference or having to go a G5 conference. Even if the SEC does not want Miami I'm pretty confident the Big Ten would jump at the chance to get a foot into FL.Like we not gonna be fine there.
