The Gators finished No. 9 in the nation in 2020, and No. 12 in 2021. But those class rankings are wildly deceptive.

“Both of those years, we were adding guys late that we probably shouldn’t have,” the former Florida staffer said. “We’d lose on guys, then scramble for Plan B’s that may have those stars, but that we knew didn’t make sense for us, and may not make it for one reason or another.”
facts some guys are rated high especially plan Bs who arent that good to begin with. Agree with that 100% since I have paid attetnion to recruiting. Those late adds are usually trash

Any late add should get the side eye from you. I mean, they’re not gonna be all bad, but there’s a lot of shlt that gets swept under the rug for these late adds. A lot of them are character issues to be honest.

I wonder if you gotta have faith. You gotta have faitha, faitha, faith...

"You’ve got to have trust," Pierce said of what the new staff would need to bring that could be a difference between the previous regime and this one.

"You’ve got to have connections. You’ve got to have relationships. You’ve got to be someone. As a leader, you’ve got to be someone that you want to follow. You’ve got to be someone that someone wants to follow. Starting with the interpersonal relationships with everyone on the team is a great way to start – a great way to establish his role as a future leader of the Gators.”

Annnnddd...there's always this too:

“I like him. I can’t say I love him yet but I like him,” Dexter said.

Coker, Golden and even Richt and Manny would do that. I learned to discount the late 4 stars by at least a star. A few guys panned out. Most flamed out. Mario's late adds are different because he recruited them for months, in some cases several years, while at Oregon.

Muschamp's staff was lazy, and while Napier is still a question mark, I don't see any stud recruiters that should scare Miami outside of Raymond, and I expect TRob to get his guys. Honestly, Napier so far hasn't blown me away. He could be the next big name. He could also be the next Hermann or Fuente.

I heard they brought in Napier for his recruiting prowess, we are going to see if thats true during the next cycle. If Manny were here I would be sure little dik Napier would eat him alive but with Mario thats not happening.
