I went there. There’s this obsession to be considered in the same sentence as Ivy League schools. It’s the foundation of their marketing. You see “flagship university” in many pamphlets. First I heard about “public ivy” was from UF grads.

They are currently touting the #6 public university ranking so it’s natural that it spills over to football.
