Seems like the details are coming out as the days go by because first they said the players were using their own UF cash cards and running them up which sounded weird because how can you overdraft a university card? Then they said the cards were theirs. Now its a credit card and it belonged to someone else? Smh.

Some of these kids are just plain stupid. And many of those kids KNOW BETTER. Jordan Scarlett aint from the hood. Buddy went to private schools is whole HS career. He knew right from wrong..Thats why I agree with the writer when they say its a UF culture thing. Im a football player so I can do what I want. Crazy part is...like the saying goes..This aint the first time they did it, its the first time they got caught.

You know what? F BIANCHI. That weasel wrote for the Gainesville Sun before he moved to the Orlando Sentinel. YOU KNOW WHY HE IS BALD? Because he made a "shave your head" bet before the UF-UM game when UM beat UF. TRUE STORY.

I love how he acts like EIGHT suspensions make the Gaytors "like every other program", but TEN suspensions suddenly means that it is time to blame UF. Ridiculous.

I worry about that. We call out the gaytor fan base for racism. Stuff like "5 Rangz" and "they need to sell their rims [to raise money for the IPF]" is no doubt in my mind rooted in race. Then when someone calls the gaytes on it, someone with differing views on race starts going after the person calling out the gaytor board. Even if I don't agree with it, people are entitled to their views and may feel compelled to say something.

That said, in my opinion, I think it's right to point out what their fan base says and thinks. They're trying to convince young black men from South Florida to go play for them. These young men and their families should know who they're playing for. I don't think it's good for this thread to have one Cane attack another Cane. If similar things are being said on the WEZ then that's on them. It's a gaytor owned board now, anyhow, and CIS is not the WEZ. The person pointing out gaytor fan racism is not a WEZ board poster.

[MENTION=2193]IndayArtHauz[/MENTION][/MENTION], any guidance on what is and is not appropriate for this thread? Not trying to get anyone in trouble just seeking counsel. If you go back 3 or 4 pages, you'll see what happened.

Here are a few thoughts on how to live life:

1. Never ask another man to "eat your ****". Ever.
2. Never have a debate on "the Constitution" with a guy who got As in Con Law I and Con Law II.
3. Never discuss the history of US tariffs with a guy who has a masters in tax law.

Anyhow, beyond that, the whole fact that some people want to jump into the "current" racism debate is just sad. As RVA and I (and others) have noted, we have seen these racist Gaytor comments FOR DECADES. I have been virulently anti-racist FOR DECADES.

This isn't a "hot topics in the news" issue for me. If we are going to live in, and/or root for, a city and a university in one of the most diverse places on earth, we should not undermine it by acting as if there is a "legitimate debate" on the propriety of slavery or the actual historical facts surrounding the Civil War.

Again, this is not a "news topic" debate. I realize that some find the news and/or politics mind-numbing. That is fair.

But it's wrong to just swallow the WEZ-bian lies about how we have to insult all races, creeds, colors, and genders just to be "fair" or "free-speech-minded".

Now let's get back to SOAKING IN THE TEARS!

Watching the Gaytors implode is much more fun than reading the national news.

Thank you. Your point is timely and well taken. This thread's done well by sticking to the subject and not having Canes attack other Canes. Whatever goes on elsewhere, it's better to keep this thread about the tears and open to all good Canes without attacks.

I like that someone having a rough time elsewhere on the board can come into a supportive environment and post in peace. Everyone should have a safe place to go and have fun on this board.

IMHO, the simplest solution is not to engage. Hit a downvote if you strongly disagree, but beyond that just ignore it. Easier said than done when the comments are a direct response to something you posted, I know. But even then, things really only spiral out of control when spectators start jumping into the fracas.

Think of it like a fist fight in the orange lot pre-game -- as long as it's just a few shots taken between two grown men and nobody else jumps in, everyone will probably still be able to walk into the stadium and enjoy the game. But if other individuals jump in the situation escalates, the police will likely be called, arrests may be made, and everyone involved misses the game.

In this circumstance, however, even non-parties to the brawl of wits are in risk of being penalized via the thread being locked. So my advice is take a minute before responding to those sorts of antagonistic posts to consider if it's really worth it to you.

Gents I was away this morning, but it looks like you've moved on and decided to police yourselves, seek a mutual standard. That's much preferable to my interference.

It's simple: don't air racist grievances here. There's got to be every stripe of humanity on this board, and some of your favorite posters may challenge your bias and prejudice if you saw them face to face. Judge on merit, not melanin. Turn the other cheek. Forgive much and be kind.

A wise man once said, "The cure for hate is gata tears." You know what? I think he was on to something.

Not only did I catch that comment, I seen it happen. While I was at Dillard's I seen a large group of 9 to 10 men buying all types of merchandise from sneakers to clothes, the funny thing was that they were buying u of gaytor stuff, hmmm how ironic. Oh well..
