Sumrall is going to be an interesting one to watch. He seems to be a good talent evaluator and developer. But he has a lot going against him.

First he's goofy. How many goofy guys made it big? Lane's the only one I can think of. Second, he's never really coached under a top HC at a top program. His three year stint at Ole Miss comes closest but again, that was more Lane than an institutionalized operation.

Goofy personality, no program experience, no NIL/pay-to-play experience, no experience handling elite egos. My forecast is for lots of mistakes these next 2-3 years. I know the boosters are backing him at the moment. I expect they'll lose patience before Sumrall learns on the job enough to be adequate..

That's how offseason lies work when you are and have been trash. It gets more extreme, the closer to the new season and further from the previous season you get.
