Sumrall's stupid little publicity stunt didn't last very long. At least when Randy Shannon stripped the names off the back of the jerseys for the 2007 season, that lasted the entire season.

Everything Sumrall does or says is just for show and attention. Hard to take the clown serious. I love the fact that the two coaches of our biggest rivals make it so easy to hate them.

Yes, the UF football team can now wear the gator logo because they passed the "gauntlet." Sumrall never took the names off the jerseys. I think he only banned the players from wearing the logo, because they didn't earn the right according to him.

Apparently, the "gauntlet" is a high intensity conditioning drill. I guess that was the only requirement the players had to pass in order to earn the right to wear the logo again. What a joke.

They earned it. By doing "The Gauntlet". Whatever the **** that means...

Pretty sad how the highly-ranked recruiting classes of G5 Slingblade Billy Napier were in such poor conditioning, but yet could be whipped into tip-top condition in just 2 months by Twinblade Jon Sumrall.

Amazing how that fake rah-rah **** works...

I worked for a guy years ago who ascended quickly because he was a “smoke and mirrors”, catch phrase kind of guy… then he found himself in a role where he actually prove he knew wtf he was talking about.

Sh*t fell apart quick for him.

He reminds me of that guy in many ways

Sumrall is such a ******* clown.

I looked up "The Gauntlet." It's some high intensity conditioning drills and physical test that Sumrall and one of his assistant coaches implemented at their previous stops. He requires the players to pass the gauntlet before they can start spring practice. This year, Sumrall decided to be a fake tough guy and didn't allow the UF players to wear the logo unless they passed the "gauntlet."

I'm pretty sure every college football coach in America has their form of the "gauntlet" that players have to pass before they are allowed to play and practice. These coaches aren't idiots and don't need to advertise their physical conditioning tests just for looks and attention. They don't threaten players that they can't wear the school logos if the drills/tests are not passed.

Facts they all get to wear the logo in the end. It’s a bs scare tactic and also a look at what we are doing tactic. They want to be seen
 
Dude is setting himself up with all this BS, the media going to UNO reverse him. Cause all of this will come up in the press conferences later on. And the fans are going to get on him heavy for these antics. He should of chose to stfu install your culture and go recruit. Mario held everything back till he knew that he knew we have arrived. Now you see the Mario who cussed and was excited to see Chase Fords highlights and Golden was standing there like a goofy. He was in a friendly roast with Kirby (he can do that now) and Summeral doing this **** way too early. They will turn on him faster because of the way he is handling the media. Imagine Mario doing this after losing to TAMU in the first round.

Sumrall has definitely struck me as having some odd actions since taking over. I personally have them winning about 7 games this season. That should be a welcome improvement, but it won't be with their fanbase. You never know with these G5's stepping up, but he has a roster where he better be 500.

In general I agree, however, it seems most UM fans gave it up several years ago.

At some point it has to stop and fans need to get the “show me, don’t tell me” attitude.
