Your guess is as good as mine. At first, I thought it was sarcasm. When I was at UM in the 1980s, the joke was that FIU students had to root for any other school but theirs, as they had no football team and the other sports had barely started.

It’s truly a sickening disease these SEC idiots have. Root for the conference at the detriment of your own team.

I loved it when FSU was left out of the playoffs. Did they deserve to go? Probably, but that’s a conversation for another day. I didn’t care that the ACC didn’t have a team. I didn’t care when UGA proceeded to smash them in the bowl game. It only helped us.

I want what is going to benefit Miami the most. If a game doesn’t affect us one way or another, I might root for the ACC team. Really depends on the teams playing.
