@PIPO re: Gary the booster and why the Gators want his head on a stick…

- Gary is the one who promised Lane was a done deal, but really he was just a stereotypical Gator. Lane told UF what his terms were, and UF said they would meet it, with Gary agreeing to put up the money (this included the NIL money), so then Gary went around saying it was a done deal. That’s why they were so confident.

- The other thing is that it came out yesterday after they found out Lane ghosted them that Gary and Stricklin (their idiot AD) shifted things to Sumrall, that Gary was saying that Sumrall was who he really wanted anyway, so they’re mad about that too. To rational people, it’s obvious that Gary and Stricklin knew Lane wasn’t getting back to them so they needed to restrategize, and they had already screwed up. But to the Gators, they heard that Gary said he was “now making their #2 their #1,” and flipped out.

- Obviously, Gary should never have handled it the way he did, and should never, ever have been discussing anything on a message board in the middle of the process. It was incredibly unprofessional. They are also wondering if there is a conflict of interest too, given that Gary’s company does general contracting and Stricklin’s main job is the stadium rebuild. And this whole coaching search was a ****show. They have a right to be ****ed. Honing in on Lane (or bust) was utterly ridiculous and just set them up for failure.
 
Also, @PIPO if you remember over the last few weeks, when @TpaBayFlyFisher ’s BullGator Partner was so excited and confident that it was done, and I was saying it was not done yet? If you go back to those posts, I was saying that was just them being confident and arrogant because Gary said since they would meet Lane’s camp’s ask, in their minds it must be done. But that did not mean it was done! It was all one-sided. And then Jimmy Sexton started redlining their MOU, but it never even got to Lane.

It’s really insane. I can’t imagine ever being that overconfident with a business deal.

Forgot to add that their search firm, Turnkey, dumped them too because they didn’t want to be associated with UF anymore after this embarrassing ****show. 🤣
