Gary Patterson

This happens weekly. The best is when you have a CORCH THREAD after the first quarter and said team/coach ends up coming back and winning.
The people on this forum aren't too bright, brother. Some of the bozos on this forum would trash Patterson but would pound the table for Kliff Kingsbury or Lane Kiffin as our next head coach.

i wish i could upvote this 100 times.

its almost scary how dumb some folks are. i swear they judge a coach on how he looks.

Patterson was ripped off from the playoff a few yrs ago....Dude gets hand me downs from Texas...Baylor...A&M and Oklahoma and STILL wins....Stop the utter stupidity...

Patterson is a top coach. TCU’s program went from the Mountain West/WAC to Power 5 because of him. He will have his down seasons but always rebounds with several excellent seasons in a row.

He’s never leaving TCU. I’ve read, without real sources, he has backend deals with Texas oil money that kick in if he stays at TCU until he retires. No sources, true, but explain why he’s never left? He’s been a highly regarded coach for 20 years.

Dude is the Bear Bryant of TCU for what he has done for that program. That is hard to leave for any program.

These bozo's don't say anything about the fact that he has played a much harder schedule than Miami has in a rebuilding.

Do you guys sit around and wait for certain coaches/players to have a bad year so you can make a point?
Are we really implying that Patterson, who made TCU relevant while using second tier talent, is a coRch?

Mannnnnn. LOL

Regardless of your or anyone’s opinion of him as a coach, UT, TAMPon and OU all get better talent in state over TCU. TCU competes with Baylor (really when Briles was there) and TTU for what is left.

Shalala asked JJ in 07...his opinion who UM should hire...before she could get it out of her mouth, JJ said Gary Patterson......Troll turns around and hires Onion Head Shannon.....
Lot of us were hoping we would go after Patterson. That d at Miami back then. Oh what could have been

Nick Saban could get a hair up his *** and want to come to Miami. Some fans on here would remember him going 5-7 his first year at Bama and losing to UL Monroe.

Patterson ain't the same aggressive, hungry coach he used to be. I don't want Richt one second longer, but Patterson wouldn't be much of an improvement.

Patterson kinda reminds me of Mark Dantonio. Last 3-4 years have been wildly inconsistent with some very bad years thrown in but still too early to write either guy off based on career resume.

His QB had about 28 yards passing in the game tonight. That would go over well around here.

BUTCH MUTHA****IN DAVIS *******!!

Patterson has always won but one particular play tonight had me scratching my head. Down 7-0 in the second half, can’t move the ball, and they finally get into opponent territory. They had 4th and a whisker from inside the 45 and he punted it. That’s an old school type of call. 95 out of a 100 you QB sneak gets you the first down. That’s was terrible. That game was so poorly coached on the offensive side the game has passed Patterson. Moral of story, we need a young new innovative coach with balls.

You could say the same about Richt if that's the case...

That's precisely how I saw the game unfolding as well as how I see Patterson at this point in his career. He does little to distinguish himself from any other coach these days (except accidentally like in that ridiculous trick play that blew up, for example). This game was riddled with stupendously stupid playcalls and decisions on his part.

I think the rest of the country probably is probably saying something similar. Would be interesting to gauge TCU's fanbase though. I believe Dantonio is still revered by Michigan State's as they seemingly just blame their OC.

It's amazing how fans can seemingly detach responsibility for an underperforming group from the head coach. As if he isn't responsible for the entire team's performance and the entirety of wins and losses. Coaches are, of course, also to blame for this - they only seem to change assistants when the heat eventually falls on them and they need a scapegoat to hang on to their gig for the next year or so.
