As is often the case, it took his firing for the full level of his incompetence and lack of capacity to do his job to come into full view. This guy was a complete joke, always was, rode the coat tails of a few elite athletes he became buddies with, and now it is clear just how much of a dip**** he actually was - struggled to pass a NCAA mandated SC test? At the friggin University of Miami football program? Come on, he was a complete loser and anyone with a brain recognized this years ago. Just another incompetent that has presided over UM football for the last 15 years - people are finally realizing how rotten the State of the U actually was. Finally we have a CEO getting rid of the dirtbags like Ice, Beard, Swasey, Dorito, Kehoe, etc.....bury them.

You could be incompetent at your job and still be a decent person.

If you are incompetent at your job and you continue to extract resources from the project - whether it be personal, institutional, or national, society does not need you. Just read a report that UM is looking for an intellectual upgrade from Swasey so they don't run into that embarrassing certification test issue again. Today, they interviewed the Living Ham and Luke Zimmerman.

Exactly. All these White Knights in here sicken me. He was a bum. Our higher-ups were bums for keeping him. He did not even possess the basic requirements to do his job. The fact that this scumbag kept his job as long as he did absolutely, without reservation, signifies everything that has been wrong with this program since LSU raped our women over a decade ago. And we had a lot of dumb asses touting what the program needed over the years....it needed one thing, a cleansing, an *****, a colon cleanse, a purge. This all should have been done in 2005. 10 ****en years down the drain because our administration did not give a chit and our fans are mostly dumb and our ex-players are sycophantic wise asses who should not speak if they cant afford to write a big check. No more.

certified and maintain current certification through a nationally accredited strength and conditioning certification

Other requirements that have been around since 2003.

13.11.3.7.4 Strength and Conditioning Coach First Aid/CPR Certification and Authority of
Sports Medicine Staff. [FBS/FCS] A strength and conditioning coach who conducts voluntary weighttraining
or conditioning activities is required to maintain certification in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
In addition, a member of the institution’s sports medicine staff (e.g., athletic trainer, physician)
must be present during all voluntary conditioning activities (running, not lifting) conducted by the institution’s
strength coach. The sports medicine staff member must be empowered to have the unchallengeable
authority to cancel or modify the workout for health and safety reasons, as he or she deems appropriate. [D]

Anyone want to give any updates??? Apparently he just could not pass this test even with the NCAA helping him out LMFAO!!!!

We had a learning disabled guy running S&C for 15 years!!!!

So? He couldn't pass a BASIC test lmfao in a field that he supposedly has been coaching in for almost 20 years LMFAO. Guy has **** for brains, or is so arrogant and thought he was so secure here that he didn't bother to learn the ****.

Either way, that should disqualify him from ever being at this great school. This place hummed along for two decades before Andreu Swasey convinced everyone he is some integral irreplaceable person. If he spent more time learned how to do his job, instead of being chummy with famous people, he might actually have kept his job.

Maybe I am reading a little too much into this, but it seems kind of weak that Richt has James doing the firing.

Reportedly, Swasey was S&C coach for the whole athletic program, not just football. Even if he was fired at Richt's behest, he likely reported to the AD. So, it would be appropriate for the AD to advise him of the firing.

My understanding is both baseball and basketball have their own S&C coaches, too. If so, I'm not sure if they report separately within their sports or if all are part of a S&C group.
