Apologies if this was brought up elsewhere but did anyone see him talking after the game?

He basically said they were unprepared, confused and had no idea what Dook was throwing at them.

He immediately realized how it sounded and put the onus on himself and the players to watch more film, blah blah blah but it was really the most damning comments about the corching I've heard all year.

He should punch Manny and/or Baker square in the earhole if they say a word to him about it.

The defense played well until collapsing late fourth quarter. Held Duke to 287 total yards, 14 FD, 6-19 on 3rd down.

The Enos Offense going 3-and-out nearly every drive did not help.

I'd argue the talent disparity (in our favor) is what accounts for the respectable pre-collapse performances by our D. I'd then argue the coaching talent disparity (always not in our favor) accounts for the inevitable collapses.

I imagine Garvin was referencing the later in his moment of truth telling.

Didn’t see it yet, but I bet he’s was super high off of his performance( oh look at me).
The first game he showed up all year, He’s was probably going back to the locker room after losing to Duke and sucking how own **** and got confused.

You you know what’s ****ed up, there are a lot of “good” players on this team, yet they still suck majorly. In all my years of watching sports, I’ve never seen a team underachieve as bad as this team. Ever!!!
It’s really difficult to reconcile.

On effort tonight-
“Tonight.. I can’t say..we have to just watch the film and review it..we were up..maybe some ppl got comfortable..I’m not sure..I know we did our best.. the effort was there. You could see it throughout everybody”

on looking like they turned the corner. Then losing 2 in a row-

“I believe in the culture I believe in the standard that’s been set..I believe in what coaches tell us and the culture and standards that’s been set. I believe if we follow this culture and we’ll be trending upwards again”

on belief in the staff even with the external noise-

“Of course I believe in them, I have to believe in them. The year we went 10-0 I believed in them when nobody else did”

What he said

The segment they played on the local news (Channel 6) starts at the 1:35 mark:

"Yessir, I think some of the things we saw we weren't ready for....we were unsure about it."

Obviously not the totality of his remarks but the most revealing of what he said- especially so if a Saturday night local newscast is even perceptive enough to pick up on it.

Yeaaa I’m just saying that’s some serious parsing through his words to come to the overall conclusion you did..given the rest of his comments..and given how the D played overall..not just the 2 specific plays he was asked about in that sequence of questions..that’s all I’m saying

I get it and agree. I was just relaying the clip I saw on the news and how they framed it and my belief that it was a moment of him being truthful. This being opposed to his honorable but inaccurate default talking points of placing the blame on the himself and the players and the rah rah team unity stuff.

The D found a way to not make the needed stops in every single game.

In every single game we lost, the defense found a way Not to get off the field. The defense collapsed down the stretch. I don’t understand people talking about how well the defense played for 1/4, 2/4, or 3/4. It’s a ridiculous argument. We gave up 14 points to FIU and to Duke in the fourth quarter.

It is very simple:

1. An admin, BOT, a tranny ***** and an “it” (Jenn) hired an unqualified loser with zero experience to be our HC. Not only did they promote from a failed regime, they paid Temple $4MM for the right to do so. This hiring followed their trend of atrocious, illogical and irrational decision making.

2. Said inexperienced HC is a loser. He has no idea how to lead and his loser attitude and fake strength makes those who he leads have that loser’s attitude.

3. Said inexperienced HC, since he lacks the knowledge, assembles an awful staff that implemented that loser’s attitude. That same HC even retained losers from that failed regime he was promoted from. Keep in mind, he has no experience, he doesn’t know any better.

4. The players, following their loser HC, who was picked by one of the worst group of football decision makers in the country, have been infested with the self-inflicted cancer.

It is not their fault. The players deserve better.

Modern defenses aren't going to hold every team under 20 points every game against modern rules football & offensive systems. i don't care how talented or well coached they are it's just not gonna happen. The defense was far from perfect but they've given us a chance to win every game we've been in and that's all you can ask for.

The offense scored only 3 points through three quarters against FIU. And scored only 3 points in the entire second half against Duke. Only the 2001 Raven's Defense can overcome that kind of offensive output to still win.

Other teams have scored 24, 28, 42, 28 (in OT), 30, & 27 in our losses. That is NOT bad defense by modern standards. Most of those points directly resulted from offensive turnovers in Miami territory. Besides VT, If the offense scores at least 28 points in every one of those games we are looking at a completely different season. Scoring 1 touchdown per quarter is not a monumental task and should be the standard.

Exactly, and also there are things that don’t show up in those stats. Like avr starting field position of our opposition, how many 3 and outs do we avr per game, that wears a defense down. And every defense shows cracks the more it’s on the field.

That’s not to say I don’t think DJ Ivey is a trashbucket. He is but if we were scoring I don’t think we’d be bad. We force other teams
To get one dimensional and unless our pass rush.

Duke offensive ranking
119th in yards per game, 94th in points. 129th in turnovers committed on offense

Yeah they did a good :ttdg2m10mxvzxan.jpg:
Nothing personal--it's just business but this is why Baker has to go. He has yet to have his defense demonstrate his effectiveness as a coordinator. I am expecting his resignation/firing today. At the bare minimum that has to happen.
