As somebody that lives in Dallas and watched most SMU games, their OL is not good.

I believe it was reported Barry said something similar.
 
Jeremy Johnson and Sean White were garbage. Rosier was better. The 3 blind mice we currently have are better.

It would be nice to have an oc whose mantra isn't 'keep doing it, it should work' if I'm explaining my thoughts correctly.

Based on what exactly? SMU's coaches worked to mask their deficiencies. Our coaches ran schemes that highlighted the player's deficiencies. I'm sure you don't know a lot about the coachability of the SMU personnel. You're just being a mope.

The Auburn offense is a more spread-power-run offense. Counters, pulling lineman, a big H-Back to lead on power runs out of spread formations. The SMU offense was more of an air raid offense influenced by Sonny Dykes. Less run-oriented and minimal power-concepts.

I haven't watched the videos yet, but I will say a combination of Malzhan's power spread & Sonny Dyke's air raid system is the best we could've hoped for. I think until we get the hogs up front to run an offense like Auburn/Ohio State/Clemson, we'll be more of a passing team to loosen up boxes. Wide WR splits to make larger passing windows and get run-support defenders out of the box. We'll pass to run.

The spread formations that Lashlee utilized at SMU will also help identify blitzers more easily and create softer fronts to help our OL in the run game.

Should we compare SMUs O stats vs Miami's O stats for 2019?

I guess Kehoe, Searles, and every other OL coach Miami has had since 2002 have been just plain incompetent.

You've exposed a huge conspiracy, we need to investigate this further.

I take no pride in being correct in my observations (most of the time). I feel this is the case again.

Listen I didn’t like the Dan Enos hire at all. This guy actually legitimately called a top 10 offense without utilizing s and P rankings.

It’s a system that Miami has needed for a long time, it’s also a system that I think will be devastating in our conference with the teams we play.

I wanted to look at actual games he called and even against good competition they did very well. Especially considering the athletes we have. We have guys with speed on this roster right now for explosive plays. (Pope, Harley, Wiggins are fast enough) I can see those guys with 3-4 40 yard plus plays this coming season.

The confusion that Miami would create for the the defenses that Miami plays is enough to actually turn the ship around. Will it? Unlikely if the players don’t care.

Can it? Absolutely! Anything is possible for Miami as long as they are playing in the worst division in power 5 ball. It’s why I wouldn’t be surprised for them to win 9-10 games just like I wouldn’t be surprised if we landed back at 6-6, (with OL issues).

This should be a step in the right direction for Miami. Maybe we can finally hit the tall task of 30ppg.
