Game week, is this more of the same?

So the board has been upbeat and excited as it is every year at this time. More so with the FSU loss, and everyone penciling the U as ACC champs. So will this year be any different that the last 20+ years? On paper we have talent in all areas and a favorable schedule. But color me scarred from the seasons past, I won’t buy it till I see it on the field. This team sucked last year and while we had some bright spots, OL, WR, linebackers, et al if they lose this week it will be same old same old.

The game plan will mirror what GT did last week with a run heavy offense sprinkled with some passing. Let’s hope the OL is up to it and defense is as advertised.

You started a whole new thread to parrot the same "I'll believe it when I see it" that has been said 500 times across dozens of other threads already? Then claim to know the game plan will be run heavy? It could be, but despite the repeated claims of "caveman" football by Mario, in the first two seasons we threw a lot, even with the QB struggles, and were no where close to being one of the more run heavy teams in CFB.

Tremendous insight. Honestly shocked no one has hired you to do this professionally

Here's a site that shows 2023 passing play percentage by team. We ranked 46th out of 133 teams. Teams with lower pass percentages included FSU, UNC, Ohio State, Texas, Clemson, UGA....all while we dealt with a combination of an injured/mentally rattled QB and a TF QB.

I went ahead and revisited our opening week Depth charts from 2018-2022... Particularly up front. (No point in going over depth chart during Golden or Shannon Eras)

We had no reason to be optimistic at all. There's actual reason to be exited right now.

If you EVER wonder why you never get invited to parties - or other celebratory gatherings - read your own post.

Hope you're not expecting a big crowd at your funeral . . .

I don't understand why its bad for fans to be excited and upbeat about a new season. If you are not, why the **** are you even a fan?

Cubs fans always had a motto that "this is our year" during their 108 year WS drought. Should they have just said "**** it, we suck" every year?

How miserable do you have to be to go into a new season expecting to suck?
