Pro's: Kaaya looked good for most of the game, had a terrible INT on the goal-line where he stumbled out of the snap & just threw it to Marquez without seeing the LB there reading his eyes. (Joku was wide open too)

Other than that, he was pretty accurate all game, Coley dropped a TD on that drive that Joku caught one & Richards had a clear drop on a button hook, but Kaaya was for the most part sharp, I'd give him a high B+/A-.

The run game was solid, not as dominant as it's been in the first two games, but I think that had more to do with gameplan than anything. I think Richt wanted to air it out & focus more on the passing game.
Walton is a future 1st round pick, he runs with great balance & never goes down off of initial contact.

On Defense, we ******' got after it when it counted the most.
Obviously, there were some plays/drives where they were gashing us, but most of the game they couldn't move the ball on us.

Pass Defense was absolutely exceptional! Elder & Redwine locked **** down on the outside & thanks to Ron Cherry, Red had his first INT taken off the board, but he played great this game.
Gotta give Coach Rumph some credit thus far.

The LB Corp played solid, the obvious blown coverage by McCloud is one of the downsides of having a Freshman at that Sam spot.
I was really happy with the way Mike Smith has been stepping up these last couple of games, dude is talented & has drastically improved in Diaz's Defense.

Cons: Need to clean up the penalties, granted some of that was the Ron Cherry special, but a lot of penalties were just dumb mental mistakes.

Kaaya's gotta tighten up and stop making boneheaded throws. I don't expect perfection & I'm not a nitpicker at all, but that goaline INT was just a clear mental lapse on his part, a faster more talented LB would've taken that b*tch to the house.

The young LB Corp needs to be more disciplined against those cutback stretch runs, we gave up way too many Rushing yards on plays that should've been stopped in the backfield.
We had drives where we would completely shut their run game down, we need to amplify those plays in film study & drive it home to the LB's not to bite on those plays where they broke us for a couple big gains.

I have to watch the replay again to see specifics on Safety play, for the most part I think they did well, not great but solid.
I know Carter had a for sure INT he missed on.

Overall, I don't have much to complain about, again I don't expect perfection, but I think we played pretty **** good.
I've been somewhat placed in the "homer" role thus far, but I legitimately believe that this Coaching staff has what it takes for us to be a contending team in the ACC this year.

I think the Coastal is ours to lose, Pitt ain't winning sh*t, UNC is weak AF on Defense & I don't see any team in our division as talented as us.
We have the ingredients of **** good team, good QB, great RB, speed on the outside, playmakers at TE & most importantly...
Defense, Defense, Defense!

I'd add:
-Thomas was everywhere
- Smith played better than Shaq
- Norton, Willis and RJ all played great
- Corn is playing incredible well

I agree with everything u said except the Walton first round pick thing

COuple of the defensive lineups had me scratching my head a little when we knew they were going to run

Their RB getting hurt made a difference Not crowning this run defense untill I see us against G Tech...

Chad thoomas looks soooo much m ore explosive than last year
Elder looks sooooooooooooooo goood

they were purposely going at Redwine because of it

Negatives
I thought Jamal Carter was faster then that

Thay kaaya int was so disapointing but he redeemed himself... a couple of defensive line ups I saw gonna worry me against G Tech...but overall we played great

Gt berrios off special Teams he should have housed that KR he is more quick then fast

I agree... Thomas & Elder are playing at a first team All ACC level thus far.

I hate to even bring it up, but man I wish AQM & Grace wouldn't have f*cked up... Smh

Our Defense would be Elite with them, not saying we're not good without them, but man... This was the perfect scheme for both of them.

Oh also, I forgot my critique on the OL...

They did a good job Pass blocking, did pretty good in the run game in the 1st quarter, had a weird 2nd quarter & then finished off the game the way they're supposed too.

I was disappointed we couldn't punch it in at the goaline, but for the most part I think they were solid.

Truth... only thing holding this defense back is depth...Charles Perry looked so slow on that TD run that got called back for holding.... Wish we had them boys

Elder chased down cox from the opposite side of the field on that touchdown run to get a tackle on him as he crossed the goaline and knocked him out of the game. Hustle pays off.

I'll say this...right before Kaaya threw the int. at the goal line, if he would've faked the handoff and bootlegged left, there was no one out there except the boot leggers on the hill side.

We will get fooled on in some PA with those young guys and how aggressive we're playing. They are a running team and I don't see us completely shutting down. They only had 249 yards. We got a break with that long run called back and their back getting injured but we balled in the trenches. Plus, the RB fumbled and they didn't give us, plus the redwine called back pick was horse ****

Some of those defensive alignments in 2nd quarter left too much room to run. Kaaya still struggling under centre to make a good dropback pass.

A win is a win however we have played against 3 awful QBs ---- we are 100% better on D but slow down

I liked how the D stepped up in every situation that they needed to .. They got gashed on that one drive but when it came down to it they didn't break ...... Special teams has to change .. If braxton was a step faster he woulda ran that kick off back and that is a big deal against better opponents ... That's really the only thing that bothers me ... Miami is playing good football right now and we've all been waiting for that for a very long time !

Doubt it. Just because he is the slowest qb I have ever seen outside of a 40 yr old Dan Marino and Peyton manning

Kaaya needs to buck up and learn to take a hit. Boy gets shook so easily when he sees pressure that he misses on easy throws. As The schedule gets tougher, I hope to see Kaaya step in to his throws despite the incoming hit.

I agree, I think a lot of that has to do with rhythm as well.

Kaaya is completely a rhythm passer, he can make **** near any throw as long as he has a clean pocket.

Unfortunately, clean pockets are rare in football, he just needs to step it up when we play better comp and let the **** ball go.
