Game 4 Regional: Southern Miss

Football team used to pelvic thrust over opposing players after a big hit and now our fans are made about a dog pile after advancing to supers. LOL

Go Canes!!
I think for the most part the dogpile issue was a 250-pound coach standing on the pile.

Wanting to prevent injury was what I saw most people talking about.

The act itself is tame and every team does it.

the board, to JD

he almost blew it by keeping the starting pitcher in there one batter too late, same with Evans. Smith and Walter were yesterday's heros.

Call up the book makers and ask whose the worst team left is, the answer won’t be Miami

You acting like Murray State a 4 seed ain’t the worst team in the tournament **** outta here
I never said Miami was the worst team left. All I said was you posting odds to win the CWS means nothing. WVU is behind Miami but they would win a series against Miami.

USM thought they would win the series too

West Viriginia might have the odds but they wouldn’t beat Miami, this team is on a mission. I talked to the players

I was in Hattiesburg for 4 days rooting for them in this hostile environment.

So you went from “odds say Miami isn’t the worst” to now “odds don’t matter bc look at results from last weekend”?

If you want to give a fact based argument about pitching matchups and lineup performance as to why Miami isn’t the worst, go ahead. But you have no clue about betting markets and what they mean or how they came to that number.

Murray State is the worst team left you dip****

Call up the odds makers, they’ll educate you

Odds makers didn’t look at a power rankings formula like they do with football. Every game is priced depending on pitching matchups and series price goes off of that. Change super regionals and you’ll get different prices. Murray St had a better season than Miami and just won a tougher regional. I’m once again asking you to provide a fact based argument as to why they are worse.

Bahahahahahaha

You are clearly a dip**** and don’t know how the betting market works

Who gives a 💩 about who the worst team left is? We're still dancing. Let's keep going until we have to go home.

Only these dip****s clearly are Miami haters that thought Miami would go 0-2 BBQ and now they hoping for Louisville to do the same

2 things can be true - I, for instance, was pretty confident we'd probably go 0-2 BBQ, and I'm still pretty anti-JD as the long term answer as our HC. I also think this argument about who the worst team left is just asinine on it's face. There's a lot of teams that others would term as "better" than us (me included) that'll be sitting at home watching us play this weekend.

There are really no Miami haters on this board. There are many that hate the long term state of the program. The "haters" nonsense is football board bull**** which is why I responded the way I did in the other thread... No one is rooting for Miami to lose to Louisville, whether we think JD was a good hire or should be fired or not.

Just keep winning.

Sickness, get some help seriously. What more do you need to see? This roster is not good, and we are in the Supers? That's because of coaching.

We lost 6 out of our last 7 ballgames. In horrifying fashion, most of them. We got run-ruled in the ACC Tournament by a team I wasn't sure played baseball. I'm loving being in the supers as well, I was excited last night, I'm pumped for the kids and for JD personally because I know he's a Cane.

But let me tell you a story about a guy named Kevin Keatts. Way back in March of 2025, Kevin was fired as the Head Coach of NC State Basketball. Which was scrutinized, because his team had just gone to the Final Four the year before. They certainly weren't the most talented team, but they went on a run, so by your logic, that's clearly coaching, right? Well why did they fire him one year later?

Because, aside from the March run of 2024 (which was awesome and fun and definitely happened and everyone should be applauded for it and people were happy), Coach Keatts was 17-14 the rest of 2024, and was 12-19 in 2025. And not very good in the years before the Final Four run.

So was he a great coach? Or did he catch lightning in a bottle for a couple weeks and make it to the Final Four? The powers that be in Raleigh sure seem like it was the latter.

So, again, good for JD, good for Miami Baseball, and I hope we keep it going. But 4 days in Hattiesburg doesn't erase the stink of 2 seasons. Sorry. Not here, not at this program. Win the series in Louisville and get to Omaha? Now we're starting to smoke. Win a game or two in Omaha?? Now we're starting to cook with gas. But, while we're in the process of running to see who can blow JD first, let's see how things shake out this weekend. I'm happy for him right now, I'm happy for the kids, that was one of the few enjoyable moments I've had following this program for many years now. So it's cool, and it's all good right now. But while you may not agree to pump the brakes, let's at least tap them. Making the supers and getting embarrassed twice in Louisville puts everyone right back in the same mood they've been for 98% of the last couple years.

I was hypercritical of the JD hire(still am) and way down on the program all season. I'm here to eat crow. It's great to see them have some success regardless.
We all know the CBB postseason is all about getting hot at the right time and a little luck as well.
