no he didn't, throw strikes. he had a 6 run lead and was chucking the ball all over the place.Menendez got squeezed for some reason.
not an update, this is the team. no lead is safeUpdate. The bullpen and specifically Bilka are still trash.
I would honestly have him pitch a couple innings in the midweek game just to get him some reps. He doesn't have anywhere near enough live reps to be as good as he potentially could be if he gets his feet back under him.I feel like that was a good example of why everyone needs to pump the breaks in both directions on Menendez (and soon on Robert). That outing was microcosm of a pitcher coming back from TJ. The good moments were really good and it’s easy to get excited, but the command is prone to come and go from game to game or inning to inning or batter to batter.
He’s working through his process, and we shouldn’t be anointing him closer in the good moments or being too critical in the rough moments. It’ll get better as time goes on like it did with Caba and Walters a couple years ago, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be on the timeline we he hope it’s on.

I mean when you are wild and all over the place, blue doesn't give you a baseball off the plate.I saw a couple of very close pitches that would have ended the game. At 8-2.
