Im seeing some say playoff caliber team, top10 team in the country

Which unit on the team is playoff caliber or top10? Which position group?

Id say beck at his best is a top10 qb, i don’t think our supporting cast will get that out of him tho. But thats at least a possibility, what else?

Beck and the OL are both definitely top ten.

If the OL does what it should, it will make everything on offense much easier.

Something we also tend to forget about is Dawson at OC; his scheme helps to create space for the WRs which pairs well with Beck's strengths.

All that to say, of Heatherman can improve the defense and Dawson can lead another efficient offense then Miami should find itself in the playoffs conversation (tough to predict what that conversation is due to injuries and what ACC teams benefit from a favorable schedule - as noted earlier in thread regarding SMU and Clemson last year).

Nothing tough about it. You would slap yourself for thinking something like that pre-2004. The bar and expectation level has lowered do far that people are now just happy to beat lowly ACC teams and dont care about rivals. Next you guys will be telling me how fsu isn't a must win because we have 7 other conference games.

I, too, have read page 1 of the internet tough guy book where it says when you realize someone is right as well as significantly superior to you intellectually, call them names. It’s an auto-win. Herb Dean runs right in and stops the fight, and you keep your belt.

Agree Wes has been big disappointment. Im excited about Toure hes showed hes a food backer in film seems very determined after these injuries. Hes in **** good shape buddy can move too think we see a big difference this year he also knows the system. I think Popo puts it together this year. Nickel and Safety were sooooo bad last year. Hopefully Poyser, Thomas, Day and Williams are competent with Poyser playing all conference type ball if we can get that we'll be fine! We have some tweeners at DT that can provide snaps which is why i thibk staff wasnt to worried. Outside of the top 3 we have Jones, Simpson, Mesidor, Bain, Mcconthy, Blount maybe even Lowe in some pass downs. Hopefully our top 3 can give us a year like Macintosh, Willis, and Norton that one year! We get that with our corners Skys the Limit for this defense!

Dude stop it. Cam hurt us by declaring for draft. I know people who sat with JJ at games. He thought tvd was trash and wasn’t impressed what he saw with Emory. Everyone forgets cam declared. Not sayin he 100% companies cam’s but qb situation was a big factor.

I think it's a top 8-10 starting 11…And a top 12-13 two deep.

I have to look at some other teams, but that's kinda where I'm at.

I think we also have good OL depth, which isn't listed but a strength although somewhat unproven. (is anyone's backup OL "proven"?)

To your list I'd also guess Pruitt and maybe M.Bryant or another safety (Day/Williams) have as good a chance as the players listed had of them.

Cristobal put his entire trust and faith in the last DC who sucked and now for 2 years we didnt recruit or develop well. Not we are stuck with what we got. Cristobal made an enormously bad hire with the last DC hire from Marshall. It cost ward and the offense a playoff spot last year.

I hope Mario can fix it soon.

That’s an offense that’s going to lack explosive plays except for
Lyle. I’d also be kind of shocked but not surprised if Moore ends up ahead of Robinson, Carr and others on the 2 deep at WR.

You're kind of proving my point. You don't even remember that he played in 11 games and had about 100 snap counts. Yet he just wasn't that memorable. Those snap counts would have kept going up in that crap defense if he was flashing.

I'm not saying he can't be the guy we hope he will be. I'm just not expecting it this season from him. I think he needs another season to bake, personally.

I watched him every snap - he's the real deal
