I don't understand how these top ranked kids reclassify to a year early and their ranking drops signifcantly. Like Sears was number 1 overall in one class and 20 in the 2027 class. Are they saying that there are 19 players in 2027 that are better than the top player in 2028?

One year less of physical development isn't an unreasonable position to take as someone ranking reclassifications.

Makes perfect sense to me. Sears from 1 to 20, Blount from top 5 to #40. I think those are reasonable adjustments.

OTOH Malachi's drop doesn't seem reasonable (certainly in hindsight).

Probably cause there is more to evaluate. Some should get the benefit of the doubt imo but they’re being safe with it

Did mali reclassify late? Was there an update for him at all?

reclassed in mid-September of his junior-turned-senior year

(while looking for the timeline on that, this was one of the first google results and uh... yikes 😭 😭 😭 )

Is the staff wanting to take 4 LBs in this class?

We really need to flip the room. Personally I think we need bigger athletic LBers who can cover to truly unlock Heathermen’s D. Love Toure and Smith but they liabilities in coverage. Pruitt and Bonner are smaller. Hayes is already gone, and Wiley hasn’t broken through yet.

Transfers incoming bruh thats what this means and the staff knows it already
Or maybe they just don’t believe some of these young guys are not good. Definitely not as good as the board thinks they are 😂. The coaches are at practice everyday seeing them. If they’re not playing it’s because they aren’t good enough yet or make a lot of simple mistakes.
