further expansion (playoffs)

This is being driven by one thing, ESPN profits from advertising. They may as well put 24 teams in the playoff like the NBA and have the college football season end before spring break!

You’re entitled to your ****** opinion
With 24 teams you can then guarantee everyone who plays in a conference championship games earns an auto bid. Then during the same week of the championship games, you have a playin tournament where the winners are in.

That would leave 3 more slots left to complete the 24. From the losers in the playin, you stick the school’s name in a lottery bubble and on selection day we find out who gets a second chance

Thank you so much for explaining that 24 is more than 12

The B10 wanting to go to 24 teams is crazy. If the SEC won't agree to that (16 next year and maybe 1-2 years following) as the eventual number they are ready to stall ANY expansion and keep it at 12. It is 100% between the B10 and SEC as THEY have the contractual approval authority. The other conference reps are bystanders as far as decision making is concerned.
good. let it stay at 12.

The schedule needs to be fixed. Next year the Championship game is scheduled for January 25
That's absurd.

4 out of the 12 teams didn’t belong this year. Yes, they have to throw a bone to the G5. Stay at 12 or throw out the CCG’s if you’re going to 16.

24? GTFO

The ranking system/Committee is what needs fixed.
Concrete rules and tie breakers. Committee members merely figureheads, nodding yes and getting 15 minutes of attention.

Best regular season in sports, worst post season.

With expansion, it will be a mediocre regular season and a slog of a post season. Expansion is a terrible idea on so many fronts.
1. Conferences will be totally devalued. CCG may be gone altogether.
2. Devalued regular season games, which has already happened. See Pitt vs ND

Many other reasons. But they love money so I guess it will happen.

This year the teams in the playoffs were weird. It was all brands and not quality.

Bama and Oklahoma should not have been there and have been replaced with Notre Dame and either UVA, Georgia Tech or Duke.
