Fuentes v Diaz

The runny glob of dog**** is much worse than the solid log of dog****.

Then you take a step back and realize you're still comparing dog****.

Impressive year for sure, it felt like half of the team quitted before the season and they looked like it in the first month, then we gifted them 4 TOs and wide open TDs and they could go to win the coastal

I don't think Fuente is a great coach but you have to say that what Va Tech has done this season is surprising (likely winning the Coastal) after they looked like an absolute dumpster fire in the offseason. While I didn't follow that situation closely, I thought they lost (or pushed out) a significant number of players and would simply be a disaster this season. It appears part of that was the coach weeding out the bad apples.

We had tons of momentum in the offseason and have underperformed expectations. It's ironic & disappointing.
He may not be a great coach, but he's better than our coach

What do you mean "maybe in the long run". If you are talking purely the first year. Va Tech had 2 kids drafted in 16. One of which is currently a free agent. We are going to have more than 2 kids drafted this year.
they had 2 guys drafted that year but 11 overall who went on to be drafted and a few more who were UDFA who made rosters..it’s two totally different situations

Reading too much into it. Fuentes saw there was a culture problem and he made things happen. Some kids were bounced, some chose to leave. Manny sees there is a culture and does nothing but complain, make excuses and continually says they have to address it.
once again Fuentes had 4 years to do that. Manny is in his 11th game..there’s a difference

I don't think Bud Fosters influence can be understated. I know many VT alum and all say it was more him than Fuentes that got things turned around. When Foster leaves this year, it'll interesting to see how that team is next year.

We saved VT's season, and likely Fuentes' job. They got annihilated by Duke before coming to our house and dominating our soft asses for the majority of the game. They've only lost one game since, a 21-20 loss at Notre Dame.

Awesome thread formula, OP.
[Insert trash corch] vs. [Insert our current trash corch], which is more trash? Both of these men are corches. Who honestly cares which is the corchiest?

Fuentes realizes their was a culture issue and he made moves to carve out the bad seeds.

Manny realizes there is a culture and does nothing to change it other than to complain about it.

VT players realizes Fuentes ain’t playing and they fall in line. They came together after a rough start and now look like they will win the Coastal. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if they are highly competitive against Clemson in the ACC Chamionship.

Our players hear the same old stuff coming from Manny and continue to play beneath their abilities because they are complacent. I would be surprised if we beat Duke at this point.

Hats off to Fuentes for not messing around with the BS, doing it his way and successfully changing the culture he set out to.

It’s your turn Manny. If the culture is so bad make moves

Isn't it ironic that Fuentes squad was playing like crap entering the Miami game, but TURNED THEIR SEASON after upsetting Miami on the road. And now if the defeat Virginia this Saturn day, Fuentes will had achieved the impossible this season. Playing in the ACC title game. Yikes.

Its not "2 totally different situations" . You don't think there are 11 kids on the roster that will end up getting drafted here? Also, Manny recruited this defense. Are you trying to say Manny at Miami can't recruit as well as a washed up beamer at Va Tech?

He hasn’t even been here a year. How is that a fair assessment?

He can start by resigning.

He lost to FIU.

Manny has crapped the bed but Fuente is a bad example. He was a moron to go in there and change the culture. VT had a culture of hard work that paid off for over 20 years

Diaz has made no moves, other then a few meaningless suspensions.

Nope. The thread formula is one coach made changes when he see it needed to happen and the other one didn’t and still won’t. One has a great shot to win the Coastal the other will be lucky to beat Duke for absolutely nothing. Neither coach has to be good. the way the coaches reacted failure lead to different outcomes.

Your premise is as trash as the corches you compare.
