AL Golden has set up a very foundation on how organize a program, it is just his on the field philosophy that has been suspect. So keeping Goldens operations procedures to help with Stitts transitions to the FBS level will Stitts to just focus on the X's and O's of running the on field issues.

Stitt has said he gives his Defensive Coordinators autonomy to run the defense their way as long as it complements his overall football philosophy of playing fast and getting the offense the most possible number of possessions. South Florida not only needs Miami to be a champion again, but the High school coaches down here could use a Technical Coaching of advanced philosophies Stitt could bring to the community. An pairing him with a DC that is known for being a defensive tactician such as say a Dave Aranda would infuse a lot of technical coaching ability that has a proven they can effectively coach up athletes combine with south Florida's talent would produce results quickly.

But all this is moot if Al Golden is able to deliver a 10+ game winning season this year.

You shod look up Stitts W/L record as HC. I wouldn't want him near this program.

Excluding the pillars, Fuente is just as bad as Golden. Look him up. He's nothing special. Just because he coaches at TCU and guided Memphis to a bowl win doesn't mean ****. Look at his resume and W/L record.

He took over a program that had been in shambles, that had won 5 of its last 36
games and that had very little support from a basketball-centric Athletic Department.
Keep this in mind when mentioning his W-L record.

Yes, I have seen seen some of his decisions. He lost to Cal Poly on a last second FG, and I believe they took Arizona St into the 2nd half.

The guy can coach.

I saw his decisions against 4 time defending FCS champions NDSU, and he looked pretty **** good with a QB taking his first snaps against an NFL QB.

So now every coach who takes over a perennial loser program - in this case a program
that had lost 31 of their 36 - and has them winning and bowling is to be perpetually compared to Al Golden?

If UM had any vision in its leadership and hired Mark Dantonio when he was attainable I believe he would have done great things here.
 
So, you would have been OK with Miami taking the coach from Cincinnati after a 3 year HC career record of 18-17 in C-USA and the Big East?

A guy who never finished better than 4th in the Big East, or 2nd in C-USA?

Get out of here! Most message board fans would have hated that hire over Randy Shannon.

It probably would have worked ... But there was nothing obvious about Dantonio becoming a top 10 CFB coach when Michigan State hired him.

Fast forward to today ... And people are knocking Fuente? A guy who actually won his conference ... Which is the same conference Cincinnati is in.

We don't need to debate past tense vision. We just need to understand it takes vision to look past W/L records and conference affiliations ...

Vision is recognizing Fuente is "next", and recruiting him now ... Before EVERYONE comes calling after the season.
