Fuente

What is this fuente specialty? Offense, defense or pillar talk? What has he done of note in past? Guy sounds like a golden clone just from the little I know, put him in same bin as Cristobal, not interested at moment. We cant take chances on guys like that. If Im taking a chance, give me a guy like herman.

His background is on the offensive side of the ball.
Having been the co-OC at TCU before his current job, he runs an offense that has a little bit of everything from pro-set
to option stuff, which is what TCU used to run before they hired the Mike Leach disciple (which I like better).

Strangely, I am more impressed with what he did on the defensive side of the ball last year.
Very opportunistic defense, but his DC last year returned to Mizzou as the DC.
He seems to like the Mizzou guys on that side of the ball.

He's smart to like guys who coach under Pinkel. I think Pinkel is one of the top 10 HCs in college football.

LOL at passing judgment on Fuente for taking over the worst program in football and turning them into a conference champion in a couple years. Prior to doing that, he had them competing and coming close to beating MUCH MUCH better programs. It was a proper build from the ground up at Memphis, and he's a total bad ***.

Just to show how goofy you are for pointing out Fuente's overall record as the reason for not wanting him, Jim Harbaugh was 17-20 after 3 seasons at Stanford. Stanford, as a program, has GIGANTIC advantages over Memphis.

Correct. Not that it matters but he took Memphis into the Rose Bowl against #11 UCLA. He had it pretty close and tied it up in the 4th quarter. He made them pretty darn competitive on the road against a good team. Memphis even missed a FG in that game but only lost by 7. He has a big game against Ole **** this year, not that he should win but it is a big game for them.

That's a huge game for him and his team, but he's got a tricky one against Dino Baber's Bowling Green team this upcoming weekend.

1. Mark Dantonio
2. Butch Davis
3. Todd Graham
4. Tom Herman
5. Chad Morris

from that list give me Morris, Herman, Butch. Throw in Mark Stoops as well.

I would focus less on Graham and more on his Offensive Coordinator.

Mike Norvell Biography - Arizona State Sun Devils

You think Norvell is qualified to be the HC at Miami, now.
Someone named Nancy or sue would be more qualified than Goldilocks.

Bob Stitt is Mike Leach Jr. Maybe a little better personality but seriously people.

Why?

He could just as easily be Chip Kelly.

Have you seen some of the guys coaching decisions? He lost to an unranked team the week after NDSU too.....see that? He's an idiot. He'll probably win at Montana, but then again every coach at UM wins.

He's an offensive genius, game decision maker moron.....just like Leech. Has nothing to do with "80's Pro style" guy smart *** Chise.

Are any of the following coaches good:

Former MAC Football Coaches:
Big Ten – Urban Meyer-Ohio State (Bowling Green), Brady Hoke-Michigan (Ball State), Jerry Kill-Minnesota (Northern Illinois), Tim Beckman-Illinois (Toledo), Darrell Hazell-Purdue (Kent State)
Ind. – Brian Kelly-Notre Dame (Central Michigan)
SEC-Nick Saban-Alabama (Toledo), Gary Pinkel-Missouri (Toledo), Butch Jones-Tennessee (Central Michigan)
ACC-Al Golden-Miami (Temple), Steve Addazio-Boston College (Temple), Dave Doeren-NC State (Northern Illinois), Dave Clawson-Wake Forest (Bowling Green)

Also, Ohio head coach Frank Solich has been the recent model for consistency in coaching in the MAC. Solich arrived in Athens, Ohio in 2005 and during his nine seasons running the Bobcats program has garnered a bowl appearance in six of his nine seasons. During his coaching career at Ohio, Solich has a record of 71-53 and his 71 wins ranks sixth most in MAC history.

Most MAC Head Coaching Wins, Career
1. 110, Herb Deromedi, Central Michigan, 1978-93
2. 108, Bill Hess, Ohio, 1958-77
3. 79, Bob Pruett, Marshall, 1997-03
4. 77, Doyt Perry, Bowling Green, 1955-64
5. 73, Gary Pinkel, Toledo, 1991-00
6. 71, Frank Solich, Ohio, 2005-present
7. 66, Trevor Rees, Kent State, 1951-63
8. 64, Bill Mallory, Miami, 1969-73; Northern Illinois, 1980-83
9. 62, Al Molde, Western Michigan, 1987-96
62, Joe Novak, Northern Illinois, 1997-2007

Yeah, a few are - did the U pick a good one - definitively NOT

Yes, I have seen seen some of his decisions. He lost to Cal Poly on a last second FG, and I believe they took Arizona St into the 2nd half.

The guy can coach.

He made the Div II playoffs 3 times in 15 years at Colorado School of Mines. I understand they had recruiting disadvantages; however, nothing in his resume stands out as "can't miss". His results at Montana will be a wash.....considering every coach before him won and won big. At best he's an unknown. Just because Sweeny mentioned him in a press conference, he's had some cool articles written on him and he consults & strategizes with some of the top spread coaches in the nation.....doesn't make the guy a home run, slam dunk hire.

In the short time I've watched him he's come across as Mike Leech Jr. Some of the dumbest in game decisions I've seen since well.....Mike Leech.

I'll be watching pretty much every game this year since I'm from Montana. I'll keep ya filled in on the genius that is Bob Stitt.

Who said anything about a slam dunk? There are no guarantees. But I like some of his qualities; he's a tireless football junkie who's obsessed with looking for new techniques and coming up with wrinkles. I also like that he believes in balance. He doesn't want to pitch around 90 times like Leach if he doesn't have to. That's why Hal Mumme/Mike Leach haven't had as much success as a lot of the young guys who've come from that coaching tree.
