AL Golden has set up a very foundation on how organize a program, it is just his on the field philosophy that has been suspect. So keeping Goldens operations procedures to help with Stitts transitions to the FBS level will Stitts to just focus on the X's and O's of running the on field issues.
Stitt has said he gives his Defensive Coordinators autonomy to run the defense their way as long as it complements his overall football philosophy of playing fast and getting the offense the most possible number of possessions. South Florida not only needs Miami to be a champion again, but the High school coaches down here could use a Technical Coaching of advanced philosophies Stitt could bring to the community. An pairing him with a DC that is known for being a defensive tactician such as say a Dave Aranda would infuse a lot of technical coaching ability that has a proven they can effectively coach up athletes combine with south Florida's talent would produce results quickly.
I obviously like Stitt, but there is no way Miami would ever hire him.

But a good number of them are clueless.
I mean, look at some of them now clamoring for Herman.
The guy was an OC at Rice and Iowa State as recently as 4 years ago
and no one was singing his plaudits.
Those same folks who are now members of his Fanboy Association would
have been internet rioting if he had been hired as an OC a few years ago.
You don't believe Herman would be a good hire? I don't have a problem with most of your candidates but I think it's strange to laud them and not put Herman as a tier 1 candidate. And any person that has access to google knows he would've been a good hire a few years ago.

He was up and down a bit at Iowa state but he dominated the past three years at OSU & learned under the best.
I think he would be a wonderful hire for this program.
However, I don't think it's a realistic possibility given the way this program - actually, this school - operates and behaves
with respect to football.
Commitment-wise, this school would have to go on steroids to hire a guy like that who, if he's as good as we all suspect,
will be in line for one of the big Texas openings in a couple of years.
I am glad you did your research on Herman and noted that he has been a very good coach for a few years, even before his stint at Ohio State. Even at Iowa State I would say he did OK given the sort of talent he had to work with and, additionally, the head coach at that school may not last much longer at Ames, but he is a very good coach and knows assistants.
That place is just a dead-end job.
My point is that folks often are looking for the shiny new stuff when it comes to coaches instead of doing some
research and then jump on them when it becomes fashionable.
You try to bring up some of these "lesser-known" and the conversations invariably end up with "we want
Butch" nonsense.
