Fuente to VT

I would rather Miami take their time and conduct a full search, instead of hiring someone quick to get it over with.

I'd be worried if they kept Foster w/ Fuente. Not sure if that's the case. Hopefully whoever we hire makes me not give a **** about this.

I don't know is "savior" is the proper word. Considering your market and availabilities, he is one of the better names out there and under 40. Not sure why you would SYH. Herman probably is a better candidate but he is #2 if you're going to college HC route.

I'm SMH at "what a nightmare" just because we aren't going to land every head coaching candidate. Breaking news: we're only going to land one of the names on the list, and there are a lot of good names on the list. We're not shutting down the program just because we didn't land 8-3 Justin Fuente.

I think you have to backtrack a tiny bit, if you're hiring based on current HCs.

You have your upper tier coaches (elite):

Kelly and Patterson

You have your mid-tier coaches (young up and comers):

Herman and Fuente

So, for many, 1 quality name may be off the list. That isn't good considering the track record our school has had recently. VT, who is not a big **** school, is potentially taking a good coach off the market. Kelly is currently employed, he may or may not be fired. Then who knows if he wants to go back to college and who will compete for him. Patterson is currently employed and beloved at TCU, he may not want to leave. Herman may be the only one at a much inferior position/school that is available.

You may not like Fuente, but he does deserve a P5 gig and he has had a good amount of success.

Fckin Miami is going to end up with Butch be default or some other schlep you is left standing when all others have been offered jobs. All this talk about Kelly and the other top coaches is nonsense. Miami is not the job it used to be and you have a bunch of idiots trying to sell it to smart dudes. This isn't going to end well for most Miami fans. If the idiots in charge wanted Butch he would already be walking the halls of the football offices. Miami will probably wait till after the bowl to bring in their "choice" so as not to hurt anybody's feelings currently on the staff.
 
Interesting hire, guy has been successful. I wasn't keen on him becoming the coach at Miami, but I suspect he'll do well. We really need to get this hire right

Good. Glad the VT job is off the market. Once less job to compete against. Fuente is currently on a three game losing streak in the AAC. No thanks. We have bigger fish to fry.

Good hire for them, great situation for Fuente.

They'll be patient with him, and give him plenty of runway to build the program the way he wants. No immediate lofty expectations.

If he's the coach some of us think he is, the Coastal just got much tougher!

If he's the coach some of y'all think he is, him being hired is a non-event.
