fsu's next coach?

This guy!

Deion is being paid 10M a year going to 12M at Colorado. No way FSU bets buyout money and over 12M a year on him after the Taggart failure. He hasn't proved he can build a sustainable program.

My bet is on Norvell staying through the season. If I were FSU's NIL decision makers, I'd use the "saved" money and do what UF did and is about to do, put it into good HS or multiyear portal players to build a foundation with, then fire Mike midway through next season if he can't get back to winning.

The real question is do they actually have the money? There’s a big difference between saved and banked. They may save money by not firing him, but that doesn’t mean they have it. They are the epitome of between a rock and a hard place. He sucks, but you can’t afford to fire him and how do you beg for NIL money when you’ve got a lame duck coach?

Thoughts and prayers…j/k fug’em!

His second or third year at Vandy he put together an amazing recruiting class and even had a couple of 4* recruits for the first time in Vandy history. The TE who was a 4* and a few of his teammates gang raped an unconscious girl and had video and pictures. Most of those kids are all in the middle of service 15-17 years. Franklin tried to cover it up, tried to get the witness to drop the charges and not tesitfy, and basically witness tampered. He then fled to PSU after Obrien left cause as that story goes if PSU hired Franklin the NCAA would drop the remaining penalty of the Sandusky episode
Holy crap. I had no idea.

I just don't see anyway FSU can get around not firing Norvell. The fanbase just folded on him for good. Boosters have now started folding on him. They don't have the money to fire him and spend big in the portal which they have to do because they lose so much. They are in a total mess, but it isn't a option. They are about to take a huge financial hit until he is fired. Good luck selling anything next season while you start at Bama, ND, at Miami. Their is no option. Tickets, suites, merch, anything. It's a disaster.

The CIS noles, aka it's better when both teams are undefeated crowd, are not going to be happy reading this.

I think they will have the money, they just may not have enough money to do everything overnight.

They just had another big portal class, several staff changes, and a massive stadium reno.

That's probably too much spending to be able to spend the same in the upcoming offseason. However, don't be surprised if they come up with the money to address one aspect of it after this season. That could be Norvell, staff, or NIL.

I suspect their program will look different in 2027, because they're not gonna tolerate this forever. Money will appear.

Soo....

If it comes down to Penn State or FSU for Manny, who does he choose?

Does he pull a Temple again, and agree to the Penn State job, then backs out to go to his alma mater?

Gruden's not a bad guy, but he would be a terrible hire for them, which would be good for us. At this point in his life, Gruden is more of a cartoon character than a serious coach. Maybe 10+ years ago he would have made a good college coach.
He's going to the Dolphins.
