The only thing you're not going to get at home (most likely) if you know what you're doing is the projector. A decent receiver, some good speakers and a 7.1+ setup is infinitely better because your proximity to the speakers is much, much closer. IMO a high end projector nowadays isn't all that much better than a mid-tier LED.

Lies I went to see black Klansman terribly slow but movie theater was quality and none of what you mentioned.

Movie theater experience isn't that bad. As long it has the recliner seats I'm good. A lot even let you pick your own seats now. Also, some serve alcohol which is a plus. Really the only negative is if you have to go take a ****. Don't really hear babies crying when I go. When I went an saw A Quiet Place, I thought it would be ruined by people talking but the theater was actually quiet and it was a full theater. So idk where some of you are going if you're dealing with babies crying and ****.

For the record, I hate going to the movies... But there are exceptions.. Star Wars movies, I need to watch those on IMax... Marvel movies too.. basically movies that are very visually appealing like action and sci-fi flicks.. I would say i go to the movies about once a year. I still remember watching Jurassic Park at the theatre (the $2 theatre on bird road and 117thish). It was amazing!

And then there's the social aspect.. when you're a kid, going to the movies with your friends, girlfriend, etc., sneaking from one movie to the other, all of this is basically a rite of passage.. it's one of those first venues where you get to be independent as a teen.

So there is some value to the movie theatres

I won't at all disagree on some. I tend to like Tarantino in the theaters. Jurassic Park is an interesting example because yeah it sounds great in the theater but it also sounds amazing on a home theater. Especially if you have the sub behind the couch.
 
Seen it today..outside of the hardy and venom interactions the movie was pretty bland and poorly written.
