Same here at 64, I very seldom go... haven't been in a couple of years. I go ******* ballistic when around me people are rudely talking away during a movie. Very close to fighting several times.
I hate Hollywood. Don't want to patronize those ********. Too much money and always lecturing us on how to live our lives

LMAO at this thread. Bunch of dudes hurt because people don't like going to the movies (I'm on their side) and people saying you "can't replicate" the experience at home.

Going to the movies is spending $20 per person just to see something before it's released to home audiences. And then you sacrifice zero privacy and no ability to press pause and take a leak or eat whatever you want. People talking, cell phones ringing, kids crying and have fun finding a decent seat. So more money and a ton of inconvenience just because you can't be a little patient. It's insane to me.

The only thing you're not going to get at home (most likely) if you know what you're doing is the projector. A decent receiver, some good speakers and a 7.1+ setup is infinitely better because your proximity to the speakers is much, much closer. IMO a high end projector nowadays isn't all that much better than a mid-tier LED.
Thanks for listing the other reasons that I prefer to watch movies at home. But if you don't mind the talking, people crossing in front, babies, not being able to pause to pee or get food/drink or fart... then knock yourself out.
Let's Go Canes!

Besides I got a 70 inch led ultra high def with killer sounds and two super recliners and a sofa. I'm too old to waste my time finger-*******, instead if my ****** wakes up I just chase the wife into the bedroom.

haven't been to the theater to watch a movie since Top Gun and I'm almost 40. Still can't figure out why movie theaters still exist.

DITTO

Here you always take a chance of aggravation of punks talking constantly, huge head apparel, people farts, banging on seats an so on .

The only way I would ever go is a matinee early as soon as theater opens walking in fast get seated and hope no punks decided to sit next to you in an empty theater.

Just can’t do it and won’t not fun at all.

GOCANES

The f*ck did this become a thread re the various pros and cons of theaters...

Only on CanesInsight...FSU though can eat a bouquet of *****.

Thanks for the essay. “Bunch of dudes hurt” yet here are three paragraphs about why you shouldn’t like going to a movie theater!

I actually enjoy theaters much more now than when I was a kid. They all have assigned seating now. Big, comfortable reclining seats with trays for food and drinks. Nobody sitting right next to you where you're bumping arms. You can even get beers or drinks at the bar now. Movie theater experience is a billion times better now than it was even ten years ago.

Assigned seating is great at the theaters that do it. You don’t have to stand in line to get into popular movies, or end up in crappy corner seats

I wish theaters would wise up and offer at least one 21 and up only theater per location. These idiots that bring newborns and crap to mission impossible that are somehow surprised that their child starts screaming bloody murder when the gunfire and explosions begin are the absolute worst of society. And FSU can eat a bowl of ****.

Why are we stalking the FSU team?

It’s our birth right

Can one of you hop on their bus when they’re entering stadium lot wearing a wolf man suit and a Miami Jersey and pull this off?
