FSU vs GT Predictions

I played G Tech at -11.5, but have the score somewhere around FSU 24
G Tech 20

If the honeybees had a slightly better D-Line, i'd take them to win outright.

In a move reminiscent of the original Longest Yard Georgia Tech steals Georgia's uniforms and FSU ***** all over themselves seeing red and black coming at them again after last year's jail shower treatment.

I want Tech to wipe the floor with them over seas but I just don't see it happening unfortunately.. a man can dream though right lol

Georgia Tech 28-17 over FSU

Ga Tech got back Haynes King and hopefully cuts down on his INTs but he was actually pretty good for them in ACC play, Converted from WR to RB Jamal Haynes who ran over 1k last season and Eric Singleton at WR who was a true freshman last year. Ga Tech got a good squad with a brutal schedule.

FSU I have no clue who they got back. DJU and a bunch of backups at their previous schools.

GT : 21
FSU : 20

Wide right FG on wet grass to end it.

Norvell wasn't too magical in this one against a UL squad that was suspect on D.

I expect the play of DJU to dramatically influence how we perceive Norvell as a play caller this season.
This. People have short memories. Travis made that offense go. They needed 3 legit offensive weapons and a system QB to put up ok points. They weren’t some elite offense last season. I could be wrong, but I don’t remember their offense being great any time before that under Norvell either. I think they’ll have to rely on defense most of the season (where they also lost talent) and they’ll end up dropping 4 this season.

I don’t see GT slowing down FSU’s run game. They won’t need DJU to be superman and he probably won’t even have 20 attempts. GT comes out with their hair on fire on O but eventually their front 7 becomes overwhelmed and they get wore down late 3rd/early 4th.

FSU 31
GT 21
I thought they've been getting better athletes up front.

I don’t have stats to back this up but felt like watching FSU a few times last year their scripted play drives after the half and the beginning of games were incredibly successful

Be curious to see if that holds up with having a significantly weaker QB and WR core (imo)
He's excellent on opening drives.

FSU was down at the half in 6 games they played last year. They were winning by three points in 2 other games. That's not including the 13-0 they were down to North Alabama after the 1st quarter. They came out flat in 9 games. I have been beating the, "FSU could have easily gone 8-4 last year", drum for a long time.
Yep, barring dumb penalties late in the 4th, they almost lost to BC. If Clemple didn't literally fly in a New York investment Banker with 1 magic year of eligibility left for a kicker, they lose that one as well...that was embarrassing for clemson...so on and so on....if Emory da Gawwd doesn't break his Arm?

Even with Travis, they caught all the lucky breaks last year, until Travis break wasn't so lucky.

Three days away from the start of the season.

Florida State -10.5

I'm going with GT 24 FSU 20. The Ga Tech offense finds success and the FSU offense doesn't get going with DJ.
Unsure if GTech will upset them but I bet GTech +12

Saw the line as high as FSU -14.5 not even 2 weeks ago. Now as low as -10 in some places.

Some serious movement already.

If I was betting it I would still take the points but FSU wins outright. Their defense should be good and they've been extremely lucky the last 2 years so I will go that route until proven otherwise.

I would predict something like FSU 26 - GT 23 or FSU 28 - GT 24
Points for me makes sense techs way. Only thing with this game is it's gonna be YOUGLY. To start the season off so far away and in a very different climate I think is just difficult to prepare for period let alone in week 1. If this was here and mid season I take tech outright.

Im probably gonna get hate but since this is just an off topic football thread..norvell is a one of the best OCs in the country.

He is a very intentional playcaller, he knows what to call and when to call it and has different layers to get the right call when you know what he’s trying to do by playing chess with the formations and/or personnel

This is my quota for unbiased rival praise for the year lol
