And then there's Clemson too. Games to watch out for is a 3 games stretch of Louisville vs Clemson, Clemson vs Va Tech, Clemson vs Pittsburgh

You wonder if we don’t start seeing some FSU guys with pro prospects start to bail on the rest of the season. People can talk that loyalty stuff all they want, but from a business standpoint it makes no sense for them to continue playing for what’s gonna end up being a sub 500 season.

FSU is a case study as to what happens when u rely solely on the portal.

The portal is a very fickle instrument. It should be treated as a FA pick up, not a team building instrument. Norvell reminds of the of the illustration of the Merchant & Donkey. If u’re not familiar w/ it, I suggest u look it up. It’s an old tale of how taking the easy way out may work sometimes, but continuing to try to take the easy way will come back to bite u.

I like Norvell as a coach, but his lack of recruiting & relying upon other teams’ scraps to build his team has finally caught up to him.

I live in Tally and, of course, surrounded by Noles, some of which I've watched games with for several years. I just enjoy going out to watch their games just to enjoy the looks of pain, confusion and hopelessness on their faces. It's therapeutic!

So true. And if you are going into the portal, get guys moving up from the G5 or leaving due to their coach going to another school (i.e. Meesh). Taking guys highly rated out of high school who couldn't start at another P4 school, not a good idea in general.

they won two szns in a row 10+ games. (id take that)

They HAVE TO GO PORTAL because the dude cant recruit or eval. Coming off those 10 win szns he wasnt landing high schoolers.

My point is, it’s not a sustainable concept. Yes, they had two incredible seasons, but 3 of the 5 seasons have been lackluster b/c of this “recruiting” philosophy. If FSU don’t start recruiting high caliber HS athletes, & SUPPLEMENT that via the portal, their seasons will be like a box of chocolates.

DJU is not the only issue on this team; all those portal DLmen stink. He hit HRs on Johnson, Fisk, & Verse, & this next batch have been woeful. The Portal can giveth, can taketh, & can deceiveth.
