Seen on 247 they expect him to end up at auburn. Auburn is recruiting him the hardest and said he doesn't think fsu wants him anymore. Said they never call or text him. He is a ee and he is going to make a decision december 1.

Hes a playmaker but he's small. 6"1 240 at best. Thought he was 6"3 at least. Can't win big time football these days with a DT that might get to 275 if he's lucky. I would still take him because he is a local boy and is at a school we need to get into but I see why FSU backed off.

I saw Miami should put the full court press on the kid get him signed as an EE, then redshirt him and in 2 years he will be 6'1" 270lbs with exceptional quickness to bring pass rushing pressure from inside out. There will be roster purges when the new coach arrives so UM will have the room.

2016 DT Keir Thomas is the same size as Current Miami Dlinemen Gerald Willis (two years ago coming out of high school); an now Willis is tearing up practice as a reshirt player.

Auburn is recruiting him to play de. It sounds like he would rather play there. And thomas is 6'1 around 245 and willis is 280.

Yes auburn is the favorite here. Interesting to keep tabs on this because good chance Cook flips to Miami.

I don't really care that he is not 6'3" because I went and watched him play a game this year and the kid LIVED in the opponents backfield all game long. He is a player and Miami should offer. If we do, he will come. I told him at the game he should come to Miami, one of the Central coaches heard me and said, "He will, if they offer him" and Keir looked at me and smiled with a happy look on his face.

Kid looks like a football player. We need those. Especially on the D-Line. Butch or Herman will lock him up.

Go Canes!

His only cnhance playing here is in a de/olb role....but his tape doesnt show much of it...**** though Tool Box Trent is putting in work for us now at LB...and he is a kid i never thought had it in him...and Trent in the last two games has looked like he has played the positionfor awhile. He doesnt have the range/length of Tool Box..but he definately has the short area burst....

* IM NOT GETTING MAD AT ANY KID WE TAKE FROM MIAMI CENTRAL, MNW, BTW, STA.....those schools really dont let us down....if he wants in...i'd take.

Agree, Trent has looked far better at LB.

Make no mistake. I will welcome him with open arms if only to finally get FSU out of MiaCen. (If thomas comes I fully expect Cook to follow) But I just see why FSU has pushed him down the board a little. I am surprised they have not done the same with Amir Rasul.

FSU is doing what FSU has always done. Put on a front like they want to lock South Florida down, only to get greedy and start recruiting nationally and shunning the "state of miami". Thats how Butch got us back to the top in the late 90s and its going to work again...Watch and see.

Dammit mane....Butch built the greatest team ever by filling needs from everywhere. Only 8 out 22 starters on that team were from "the state of Miami"

We would not have won the championship without Reed, Shockey, Dorsey, Portis, Jones, DJ Williams, A Williams, 4 OLinemen, etc.

Take a seat young'n and let me school you to some knowledge...You missed my point. While we were getting guys like Sean Taylor out of Miami Gulliver who was a 3 star recruit...FSU wanted the #1 Safety in the country instead who I believe was Yohance Buchanan at the time out of Atlanta GA. While we were getting Willis McGahee out of Mia Central. FSU wanted Nick Maddox out of North Carolina. (#1 RB in the country)

While we were getting Frank Gore out of Coral Gables. FSU went all the way to California to get Lorenzo Booker. (he was the #1 RB in the country)

While Butch was hanging out with Andrew Williams at JUCO and ran into some kid from Ely High named Jerome McDougle and convinced him to shun UGA and come play for the U..FSU went all the way to freakin country a$$ Americus, GA AND Waco TX to get Alonzo Jackson and Kevin Emanuel. Two of the top DEs in the country.

My timing might be a little off because its been so long but you get my point. We were holding the "State of Miami" down and "that little corner" wasnt enough for FSU. They wanted the whole **** block. And that was apart of their demise in the early 2000s.

And this thing is coming full circle again and you can see it happening slowly but surely..as they say, "Its happening, isnt it?

FSU only wants a select few out of this area....upper echelon u might say...but they would offer a few as pawns....lol how they did Alex Collins boy the qb out of south plantation...dude had no chance and knew **** well he wasnt that level of player...i think he is a juco bounceback right now...that maybe headed to auburn...but its countless guys like that.

Sean Taylor was a Consensus 4 star recruit as an Athlete coming out of Gulliver...he played RB/S... still holds the Dade County TDs in a season record with 44 or 45.. never was a 3 star.... and Butch almost lost Gore to Ole Miss... if it wasnt for Coker getting hired an offering Roscoe Parrish, he would have never suited up for the U.. FACTS

Yeah, you got some of those dates mixed up, and FSU always heavily recruited the state of Miami.

Gore (wasn't recruited heavy by Butch. We wanted Lyell Ross and some other backs, IIRC) was class of 01 and Booker was class of 02. They also got Leon Washington in 2002.

Willis was class of 2000 and Maddox was 1999. In 1999, we went to Gainesville to sign Clinton Portis and to Chicago to sign Jarret Payton.

Don't know why you brought up their DE from TX, when we ignored plenty of local DBs to sign Marcus Maxey. We also signed Antonio Warren and Jovany Ward, who I don't think ever played football again. We missed out on a lot of other quality DBs during that era (most of these were not recruited): Torrie Cox, Chris Gamble, Asante Samuel, Bennie Sapp, Abram Elam, Curry Burns, Derrick Gibson, Malcolm Tatum, Stanford Samuels, Juliam Battle, Willie Middlebrooks, Brian McFadden, etc...

In-fact, the state to TX was very good to us in that era: Bubba Franks, Damione Lewis, Daryl Jones, etc...

I don't know how Andre Wadsworth wasn't at least evaluated by our staff, but he goes to FSU and ends up being a top-3 pick.

FSU fot what they wanted from Central which was Cook.... Calvin Brewton and Phillips were EEs and still havent seen the field even with the injuries to their secondary.... only Rudolph, whitfield and bobo Wilson are better than Phillips... FSU using Central High IMO

Fsu should get some backlash for what they are doing to Thomas. You can't do that to your feeder school and expect for it not to have some effect in the future

FACTS: Sean Taylor might have ended the season as a 4 star but I will bet whatever you want that he was a 2-3 star going into his Sr year. Nobody outside of South florida knew who the **** Sean Taylor was. FSU **** sure didnt. And wanted nationally ranked guys as opposed to him.

I know the Gore story very well. My point was that FSU whiffed on hm as well and went national with their recruitment of a RBs and ALWAYS did. (Nick Maddox, Travis Minor, Greg Jones, Lorenzo Booker, etc)
