The Clemson/Al Golden game was the 1st thing that came to mind. The postgame handshake Al Gluten looked like he'd witnessed war atrocities

Mario is an experiential learner. He didn't believe in kneeling the ball, until it literally cost him the game. He didn't realize the value of style points until he let FSU have some sort of late moral victory. I don't think he will be calling off anything against a conference rival ever again. Ask Pitt.

They really didn't go to the locker room? I watched that game at the old palm beach lakes ale house but dont recall seeing that happen

Same. I’m of two minds. Few things bring me more joy than the holes being literally a dumpster fire and winning 7 games in two years. But I also miss how intense the rivalry was. We have that a bit with ND right now but they’ll stop playing us

I think in today’s world just annihilating the corpse of their program is. 20 years ago when the margin of a title was one game, it felt better being the reason they didn’t win a title. Now? They could go 12-1 lose to us and still make the CFP. Still get bragging rights but a loss wouldn’t be a death sentence anymore.

Whereas beating them by 50 sends an actual message.
 
We will get their best effort and best game imo. I have no idea whether that means they hang with us and keep it within 7-10 points until late or whether they can only hang for a quarter and lose by 30, but they almost always are motivated against us.
