FSU Exodus

I've said this before and I'll say it again. FSU is hardly a program. They are one, successful, long-time coach, and a guy who essentially rode his coattails. Tally is not some quaint college town like Gainesville. It's a meth-addled dump with a towering penile monument/capital building.

I've never been to Blacksburg but would assume it's more or less the same. You're not going to get a good education. You're not going to really enjoy yourself in the podunk town in the middle of nowhere. If the team isn't winning consistently, what would make anyone want to go there?

I spent a month in Tally one week (on campus) and I'll never, ever go back to that god awful hole.

We can disagree on this. Taking the schools entirely out of the equation, if I was forced to make a choice between living in Tallahassee or Gainesville, Tallahassee would be it. At least Tallahassee has/had some decent, interesting restaurants and bars that don't just cater to stupid college kids. Gainesville would be so boring.

If you're quoting US News rankings in regards to quality of education, you know absolutely nothing about either the US News rankings or quality of education.

The US News rankings ARE NOT ABOUT quality of education. Please look at the factors that go into those rankings before citing them.
I didn’t say anything about quality of education. The student body there is not much smarter than FSU’s.

Average SAT scores are almost identical. (FSU 1270, VT 1280). It’s just not that hard to get into Va Tech. Just because it has tech in the name doesn’t make it a great school

I think their only hope is if Norvell can at least change the culture of losers but he can't recruit at the level needed for the next step.

Hope Norvell gets rid of the trash mentality, get the buyout(s) off the books and go for a big time coach in 4-5 years.
Huh! Your on a canes board and with your name. Why would u wish good fortune on our enemy?

SIAP...Blackman transferring, Terry no longer with the team. Wilson and Taylor done with season ending surgeries. Hate to see it.

Exactly. Norvell doesn't appear to be capable of dealing with the type of players that are needed at FSU to compete on a national level. Even if he's a good offensive mind, you need a **** of a lot more in terms of leadership to win national titles, which is what they want at FSU. They're on track to be average in the ACC at best with Norvell.
How long will they remain “mediocre”?

I'd be willing to bet they start performing better on the field if they get hard working guys to come in. The last several years they have recruited well, according to stars, but horribly according to character. Sure, their rankings will take a hit, but they need to recruit high character young men that will work hard, not quit the first chance they get.
Yup. Facts. Let em get all the hard working 1 and 2 stars.

They'd be better off with quality 3 stars than 4 star guys that don't put forth the effort to be the best they can be. They have done a horrible job of recruiting football players, but a pretty good job of recruiting guys that are athletic and look like they should be great football players.

I can't see them putting anything respectable on the field in 2021 either. He'll probably start taking a realistic approach to recruiting during the next cycle and maybe shoot for bowl eligibility in 2022 at best.
