FSU Exodus

I've said this before and I'll say it again. FSU is hardly a program. They are one, successful, long-time coach, and a guy who essentially rode his coattails. Tally is not some quaint college town like Gainesville. It's a meth-addled dump with a towering penile monument/capital building.

I've never been to Blacksburg but would assume it's more or less the same. You're not going to get a good education. You're not going to really enjoy yourself in the podunk town in the middle of nowhere. If the team isn't winning consistently, what would make anyone want to go there?

I spent a month in Tally one week (on campus) and I'll never, ever go back to that god awful hole.
Virginia Tech is a very good school. Not even in the same conversation as FSU

That program has a terrible vibe to it right now. It’s a death sentence for any coach that goes there. There’s no reason we shouldn’t rattle off 10 in a row against those clowns at this rate.

Is Chubba Purdy wearing a red shirt? Does he keep it if he plays this year?

LoL, alot of post in here is what we call Hoe ****, real UM fans dont want to see Fsu down, we want them at their best, ****'sin here acting like just because a couple of guys are leaving their program, that means it's over for them, lol. Coach norvell hasn't even been their 1 full year, than we got a thread that's asking "where is the running game" in the meantime this year, FSU has been running on almost everybody, they avg around 200 rushing yrds a game, we just under a ball-50.

Coach norvell is and has already partially installed a tougher mentality in that team, they are already beginning to show signs of being a strong rushing team, so he's building his trench guys up, because they now know they have to be a True run blocking team, this will start to translate to their d-linemen, their offensive identity is being set and the foundation is being laid, in all the years of facing FSU, we've never really had to concentrat on their running game except when they had amp Lee, Freeman and dalvin cook, sammie smith was soft but they did beat us 3 out of the 4 years warrick dunn was their. If coach diaz wants to lay his fate, at the hands and feet of coach blake baker, that's on him. But the ones in here laughing now, just remember your post.

I kind of feel bad for Blackman. He looked decent as a FR under Jimbo but regressed horribly under Taggart and Norvell. His career might have turned out differently had he stuck with Jimbo, who for all his faults, is an exceptional offensive coach.

At this point it’s not even laughable anymore. FSU will be down for some years. Maybe 3 years because most of their team are JRs and SRs, and they’re either leaving or trash. And their 2020-21 class won’t be much of a factor. Smh.
Announcer during their game last week said their roster has the second most Freshman/sophomores In the country. Maybe he was wrong, but that’s what was reported

Lmao. Teams are more than happy to let FSU run for 200 yds when theye losing by 20+

I'd be willing to bet they start performing better on the field if they get hard working guys to come in. The last several years they have recruited well, according to stars, but horribly according to character. Sure, their rankings will take a hit, but they need to recruit high character young men that will work hard, not quit the first chance they get.
They were us, bruh, back in the mid 2000’s. High ranking classes w/ character issue guys who felt entitled. B/c our coach was a puss, the soldiers were leading the soldiers. FSU was left a mess by Jimbo. Literal asylum. Willie Taggart didn’t have the gumption to fix things; he literally added to the flames.

Norvell is a good coach, but that place is a 3 yr rebuild. He probably looked at the “talent” and became enamored, w/o realizing that talent was tainted af.

In any instance......Fck them & their program.

They do, indeed. Problem is, it can't happen over night. First step is a solid foundation, and recruiting young men with a strong work ethic and good character is that foundation.
I would argue the problem is not that it can’t happen over night but rather it could never happen under Norvell. They will never be back to a top tier program as long as he is there. Al Golden 2.0

They are definitely losing more and more luster by the year. Two disaster coaching hires and poor recruiting will set them back years. They will have a very hard time getting back.

Exactly the situation that Al Golden found himself in circa 2011.

I think you and I have very different opinions of what a very good school is.

You might be thinking of Georgia Tech.

I spent years on Wall Street across multiple firms and never, at any single point, encountered a VT alum.

Announcer during their game last week said their roster has the second most Freshman/sophomores In the country. Maybe he was wrong, but that’s what was reported

So then here's what FSU has to work with going into 2021:

Blue Chips: (incoming freshmen in italics)
Quarterback:
Chubba Purdy, Luke Altmyer

Wide Receiver:
Bryan Robinson, Ja'Khi Douglas

Running Back:
Lawrance Toafili

Offensive Line:
Dontae Lucas, Rod Orr

Defensive End:
Quashon Fuller , Curtis Fann, Shambre Jackson

Linebacker:
Jaleel McRae, Kalen DeLoach, Stephen Dix Jr.

Safety
Brendan Gant, Raymond Woodie III, Jadarius Green-McKnight

Cornerback:
Akeem Dent, Travis Jay, Demorie Tate, Hunter Washington, Omarion Cooper

That's it, presently. Just 21 blue chip players that are in Year 1 - 3.
