FSU bans warchant on third down

The 2000 and 2002 ‘F U Seminoles’ chants in the OBowl WEZ are one of the entrance songs I imagine played in heaven. Magical.
Can't remember if it was one of those years, but I remember one game we were winning late in the game and our own band started playing the tune so our fans would do the FU Seminoles chant.

Exactly just a bunch of douche bag liberals white knighting because they hate themselves... meanwhile the Native American groups around Georgia consistently back the braves and tell the liberals to go f themselves.
As they were doing in Washingtonand Cleveland.

Now we are learning the logo on the Redskins helmet not only didn’t offend their people, it honored their Chief.

Honestly I am pretty worked up about this. I saw corporate think destroy Nascar, the NFL and the NBA. Sucked the fun right out of those sports for me.

I dont want the same thing happening to college football. :/
CFB as we knew it is in its death throes. Everything is being refined as a product, for maximum digestibility among the masses. Any aspect that challenges consumption will be worn away, diluted, or replaced entirely. Cater to the lowest common denominator, get into their pocket, and watch the money pile up.

Make it simple, marketable, and easy to enjoy. Then do it over, and over, and over again. The game will cater to the casuals more and more, until it’s the NFL with more teams.

Nailed it

There's no way this came from the players without Norvell's approval. I guarantee you he was trying to play cool step dad and go along with them. This is why they don't have a culture.

I don’t even like Florida State but it’s so many people killing CFB traditions everywhere smh

They r literally neutering the game & it makes zero sense. It’s a proven product whose popularity was rivaling the NFL, & then way too many non-athletes started imposing their wants on the game to…man, nvm. I don’t even wanna go down this rabbit hole.

This is low key like The Washington Redskins being forced to change their names b/c of a certain group of individuals trying to speak on behalf of Native Americans, just for these same “offended” Native Americans now suing for The Commanders to change their name back to The Redskins.

Just leave **** alone.

I blame the Devil Rays. It was all downhill after that

Did anyone actually hear the segment or read about the "banning of the chant"?

1. The chant is not banned on 3rd down. The FSU marching band has been banned from playing the chant 3rd downs. Fans can, and will, do whatever chant they choose to do on any play of the game.

2. The FSU ADMINISTRATION has made this asinine decision. It is not the NCAA, the ACC, or any other powers that be in college athletics. The FSU ADMINISTRATION made this choice on its own.

3. Who gives a **** anyway? It's FSU, ****'em.

My thought is they did some bs survey of the FSU student body and found they want more house music instead of band music at games. Instead of recognizing attendance at football games involves way more than this one subset of fans, they had an Asst. AD talk the higher ups into placating these Gen Z'ers.

Nothing to do with being "woke" or any of that ****. Good, old fashioned targeted marketing toward the "next generation" that only ends up ****ing off the much larger rest of the customer base that has been loyal for years.

If they want to do something "woke", how about having Chief Osceola portrayed by a student each year who has actual Seminole ancestry each year, instead of some white frat boy named Chip with a horrible bronzer sprayed on?
