FROM VEGAS: Miami will open as FAVORITES vs FSU next week.

Sweet Jesus. I'm flying down for this game. If we win I might just stay forever.

That being said we have no right being favorites.

22 point dogs last year.

We clearly impressed against the ACC world beating VT and UNC. Impossible Golden hasn't proven his point at this juncture. lol.

Lmao...the line is useless here...we will need the four horseman and every ACC official on our side to pull that one out. I will go with the 4 horsemen before any ACC official makes a call our way.

I feel like we're being bamboogled here. When's the last time an unranked 6-3 team was favored to beat a 7-0 national defending champion who have won their last 24 games in a row?

Fsu has been ****** around too long. Going to slip up sooner or later and Vegas knows it

refuse to drink any type of koolaid. Will come back after the game if I'm not blacked out drunk.

We're not opening up as favorites unless Jameis is out for the game and that is known before the lines are made.

Coaching does not go into the vegas line at all!

Yes. It. Is.

This is why the, "He doesn't lose games he's supposed to win," argument is invalid.

Dude what are you looking at nothing in these articles is from lines makers and nothing says anything about a coaches pointspread value coacjes have absolutely nothing to do with miami -17 vs north car or any other game

It says clearly in all three articles that coaching is factored in and the quality of the coach and the length of time the coach has been there has an impact.

If Miami is favorites in this game (which ikno we wont be) but for talk sake. We will win & vegas will make an absolute killing bcuz the public will HAMMMMMMER Fsu.

First, coaching absolutely is considered by odds makers. Retarded to claim otherwise. \

Second, the issue with Winston is the hearing and his ***g*t lawyer's claims that FSU did not provide him "discovery" far enough in advance. Some people in Tallahassee think that if this leads to a stand off next week and Cornball noticing FSU that Winston will not attend unless the hearing is postponed, then FSU may face a Hobson's Choice -- suspend him or acquiesce and face increased public condemnation. But if that materializes, then the line will be off until there is announcement.

Third, presuming Winston is playing, FSU will ABSOLUTELY be favored when the line is released. My guess is -7.5.

Where's Dooger to explain this?

I'm sure he's preparing a thesis on how Miami needs to run the triple option in order to beat FSU. Or how Miami high school football is finesse and soft. Or maybe he will go to his tried and true "Miami only won national titles because of the Orange Bowl stadium."

Well done. I particularly enjoyed the identity of the murderers row of posters who thanked you for that contribution. Otherwise known as Simpleton Central. Masters of Conventional Wisdom. Maybe I should be posting that Mike Leach is a fantastic coach...

Makes no sense that Florida State would be underdog. Their power rating is 6-9 points higher than the Canes in the sources I checked. As always, the line is based on power ratings then home field adjustment and a bit of situational adjustment if proper. The Canes will receive a point or two bump via the bye week.

Put it all together and the logical line is Florida State -3 to -5 if the game were held this week. Once in a while things can change dramatically in a week's time, which is what happened when Virginia Tech struggled and suffered block injuries a week before we played them. Canes went from underdog to favorite. But Florida State on the winning streak and with all the talent is not vulnerable to that type of thing, minus absence of Winston. If there's an adjustment I would expect higher, not lower.

Las Vegas has no inside information and doesn't care about trends. I've posted the links previously, the real world look into what an oddsmaking session looks like. It's about as complicated as children playing on a riverbank. Throw out numbers, like skipping rocks. Then onto the next game. But at any given time there are guys in town who love to see their names in the national media. R.J. Bell is a current example. He started a website 8 or 10 years ago that has done fairly well and he quickly figured out how to boost publicity for himself and his site. Big success in this case.

BTW, thank you for spotlighting all the truisms. One of the great litmus tests in sports is opinion of the triple option. Anyone who denounces it ("high school...") is a moron. In fact, that type is quite prone to believing a coach will be fired based on a handful of early season road losses with a true freshman quarterback. Amazing how this all comes together. Carry on.

If we open as favorites then Vegas must be trying to set a record for largest underdog moneyline action in the history of sports wagering.

This is ridiculous. FSU beat Clemson without Jameis.

Clemson has one of the best defenses in the nation.

FSU will not and should not open as underdogs.

We're still going to win though.

FSU didn't win that game

Clemson lost that game. But Dabo went full Dabo. Oh and they fumbled with 45 seconds left trying to score a TD for some reason LULZ

Notre Dame pushed their **** in all night and got robbed by the refs

Louisville dropped 3 Jameis Winston interceptions and 1 of the 3 should've been returned for a TD.

NCST went up 24-7 on them

Okla State QB did a front flip trying to get a 1st down with the ball at midfield down 4 points and about 2 minutes left.

Point is. EVRYBODY has been watching them all year. A lot of luck and a few referee calls away from being a 3 loss team. Don't kid yourself, this isn't last season's FSU. Plus Jameis is going thru some **** right now with the hearing coming up the monday foloowing our game

Miami has won 12 of their past 13 at home.....by a wide margin. And they are surging now.

Add that all up and yeah no doubt they might just be the underdog coming to Miami

Has the FSU-UVA game been cancelled? I know Virginia is a tomato can, but you never know if you overlook a tomato can.
