Hear me out - if we are going to run a bull **** HS offense I'd rather run it with Nickel, who has some athleticism/movement skills and could maybe learn/improve than Beck who is **** at this point.

He beat 3 of our biggest rivals (ND, FSU, and Florida) and chokes against inferior teams. That’s a punchers chance because beating inferior teams is fixable. Normally, coaches struggle against the big boys.

I see you’re in your feelings and not liking my takes on the subject but the reality is the big $ NIL support is all in on Mario. They brought Mario! They are here BECAUSE of Mario. Should Mario fail, Miami will more than likely return to being broke and losing these kids to SEC again. Good luck with that strategy…

It’s time for a change but something isn’t working. Biggest NIL football programs are holding serve minus Texas.

This sport is political now right down to who plays. We have better players not playing because there are those making more.

We need to look at the coaching staff and also the entire program right down to the AD and NIL guru.
 
The problem is accountability. If you play with no margin for error you can't be the most error prone team in football. If you do play error prone football like we do then let the guys stretch their legs and play loose. Use your athletic ability. Don't keep them in a phone booth. They all play like they are gonna make diamonds out of coal.

****, Blay tried to take himself out of the game early when he jumped offsides. And they said no stay in. There has to be accountability for **** poor execution. How f'ing hard is it.

But at the end of the day, I also blame Mario and any media. Back in the day, the writers challenged coaches with tough questions and wrote strong opinions. These days I don’t see much of that.

Mirabal is def a problem. Overrated OL coach, a lot of the team’s penalties come from the OL, it was like that at Oregon and guess who the OL coach was.

Oh I know - I’m a pattern and trends guy. Last week, we saw Dmoney say right away we would see more open alignment runs and we did. But we also did not stay true to what worked yesterday when it mattered most. And the criticism has been LIGHT on the oline by dmoney compared to other positional groups.

Dmoney said at beginning of the year this unit was all that and one of the best in the nation. Time to eat crow on this one and not point to one light comment as seeing it too.

Flat out double plate of crow on oline assessments, coaching and in season development.

But will we see that? That’s what I’ll be looking for. 👀

- Forget the loss today, it goes beyond that. There are deeper seeded problems with this program and Cristobal. I'll say this again, the way he approaches football(pace, tempo spacing and game management) lends itself to Miami being in closer games than they should regardless of the talent advantage. It's no coincidence.

It's why UM has lost four ACC games since last November as a double-digit favorite. That's telling. Ask yourself this you don't think Rhett Lashlee wouldn't trade rosters with Cristobal?

I'll say this again, as a superior team with more athletes, you want to EXTEND the game not shorten it. You WANT more plays, not less. Miami plays offense at times like it's not allowed to hit big plays but has to play one first down at a time. Today, SMU didn't move the ball consistently, but they set up shot plays.

Mario is good at many things, he has actually moved this program forward in many aspects. But will he recruit well enough to overcome his own defiencies as a game day coach. Today was one of the worst performances I have ever seen on the sideline. From taking timeouts just as plays were moving on, and then insisting on being physical instead of productive offensively

Personally, Id like to score a lot more points early and THEN be that later in games. Sometimes I wonder if Cristobal believes all games are meant to be won 24-21. I don't believe Miami is getting rid of Mario any time soon. It is what it is. My question is can be evolve or just play the CEO role with elite coordinators in place?

- the officiating was mind-boggling at times. But again, that's why you try and blow teams out so that a few calls don't impact you that much

- this years O-line is severely overrated. Too many short yardage situations where they dont get push and waaaay too many penalties. Ive never seen a unit with so many pre-snap infractions

- Jojo Trader flashed. But his bobble-turned-INT turned the momentum. That play and the offensive PI on the Alex Bauman catch deep in SMU territory were big

- I dont know who Miami's next QB will be but I'd like a real dual threat with some twitch and athleticism. The way Miami plays offense it's like you need a guy who can bail you out with a big scramble here and there, and be a consistent threat at the mesh point.

- Finally here's what stood out to me at the game. As I was sitting in the 221 section of Ford Stadium, I looked around and the Miami fans were bored to death in the middle of this game. Miami simply isn't a very entertaining and exciting team. It's a reflection of the coaching philosophy at play. As Im seeing the other scores, it dawned on me that I was missing out on a lot of other good games.

After today, Mario has lost the fan base. Perhaps he can get it back. But this is now 6 losses as a double-digit favorite for Cristobal as the head coach at Miami. That speaks for itself.

You hit on pretty much all of the big issues, Niner. If anyone has the records on which players commit penalties, I'd love to know which OL it is. My bet is Bell, it seems like he's whistled at least 3 times a game for a false start, and eh added the ineligible receiver downfield yesterday to make sure another big play got taken off the board.

The problem is we invite defenders into the box. They each can only block one man, so there's almost always a free hitter.

You need exceptional blocking TEs with how we run the football at times and we simply don't have them (or don't let them play if we do have them on the roster).

Beck had all day and he also missed about 10 throws that he just never saw. Tony Johnson is still open.
 
I pose a serious question to you. Is Mario Cristobal a better COACH than either of the last two head coaches at Miami? If all things are equal and he didn’t have his Columbus connections?

No idea. But manny Diaz is like a self fulfilling prophecy. I hate the guy but I can tell you what’s likely to happen. He’s going to get a big time job, one with way more resources and he’ll win more than Mario Cristobal and we’ll be like how? The answer is he’s willing to change and he’s actually good at what he does

the oline is not over rated. Beck has all day, all day to deliver throws. he is too slow post snap and misses reads he shouldn't.
 
Yeah I know. He sucks on the offensive side and basically just gets in the way but I think his offenses (excluding year 1) was better than Richt. He gets out of the way on defense and Manny's d was unbearable so then he is better than him.

The problem with him is he just needs to get the **** out of the way during the game and let the others work. He also needs to instill much better accountability. However, I do think he was better than both diaz and richt in that regard. I wouldnt trade him for either. That said he is the tallest midget.
