Freshman Friday Welcomes Brian Hightower

He runs effortlessly. He has the ability to break away at the end of the play downfield with sneaky speed to get his hands on the deep ball. Always looks in control. Suave.

Kid seems to make plays every single time he's on the field. I wouldn't be surprised to see him eat Cagers lunch and be that big WR in the rotation.

Looking at our offensive future from 30 thousand feet perspective, it seems clear that we are in about as prime position as humanly possible to be unstoppable. The only reservation to that is QB, and most importantly OL. With the weapons in place, if we can add a QB that is at minimum a great game manager and consistent along with an OL that can play at even a 2005 caliber level,... To **** with viagra! Lord it's been so long since we could be this excited about our canes. **** it man!

This kid is the goods. His physical skills are obvious.

But, his maturity and drive are what really impress me. He is from Calabassas, a very upscale town just northwest of LA...home of the Kardassians. Rather than enjoy the fine life for his last two years of high school, he moved 3,000 miles east to attend IMG. There, he spent two years of rigorous academic and athletic training. IMG is a very disciplined and scheduled environment where the students learn to live on their own, manage their time efficiently, follow a nutrition plan and train in their selected sport.

With this background, he arrived at UM ready to study, train and excel from the get go. He showed that readiness and maturity right away in the spring game.

IMHO, he will contribute this year and replace 82 next year if Ahmon goes early to the NFL. I look for him to dominate as a soph and junior before he too goes to the NFL. Looking forward to seeing him perform for the U!

Regardless of OL and QB there's gonna be huge plays everywhere all year. The O will be exciting with these athletes.

Andre Johnson 2.0 Can't wait to see the speed team of Richards, Harley, and Thomas, then the jumbo team of Cager, Hightower, Nojku, and Jordan/Polley...Pick your poision cause the defensive backfield is gonna be gassed at the end of the 1st quarter...

He got separation consistently against some of the top and fastest dbs in the country at the army all America practices. He definitely knows how to do that
no true. He made tons of grabs against the best DBs everywhere he went, but almost all were contested. Getting separation is not something he does well.

As long as his hands do not separate from the ball when it is thrown to him, who gives a s'hit?

I can Pull up multiple videos of him burning Taylor Stuart who runs a 4.3

In regards to my previous comment, which expectedly got thumbs down and responses... I was just saying... from the Spring game and other clips seems like he bobbles a lot or catches against his body.

Obviously, if it’s even an actual issue, the kid can get better as many do. Luckily, barring injury, he won’t need to be the man yet. There is a ton of talent on the roster at WR this year and next.

Great write up. Hightower is a good enough athlete, but he is an elite receiver from the neck up. He has been well coached and is clearly a serious student of the game and most probably his opponents. I'll take that every day all day. He'll be open often and make opponents pay when he gets his chances this season.

Going to be yet another stud WR that Miami will have produced. I can see him balling out so well no way he’s here past Year 3. Could easily climb into AR82’s role come next season. I’m stoked about what he brings to the field, and know he will give Rosier a calming effect with his huge catch radius. Between these young lads coming in to rule the roost both our WR and TE positions are loaded for the next several years.
I see Pope as a Richards type. I think Hightower could be a better Cager. I want to see him get a touch faster and better separation. At the least will be a good red zone threat
