The grand incredible DJ SCott La ROck. CLassic song. BDP has so many classics. What I always hear from the OGs who where around in the 80s they tell me that D-Nice got into beef with some guys at Highbridge Projects and then he went and got Scott la Rock to back him up because Scott had a lout of clout over there. Scott ended up making them ***** out in front of their whole building and basically embarssed them saying he would go and talk to the guys that run this territory and air them out if they kept ****ign with D-Nice. Obviously the dudes got ****ed that Scott tried to push him around plus they were hating because he was getting money so they went and got the strap and shot them up as they were leaving and hit Scott.

I knew D Nice was part of BDP but had no idea he was part of all that with Scott La Rock getting killed. Now, KRS ONE... Love that guy.

That's true. MC Shan and Marley Marl started all that shît with The Bridge and KRS wasnt having any part of it. I miss those days.

My wife was born and raised in MIA. When I took her to NYC she goes apecrap....Loves it. Been there 3 times and she never stops talking about it.
Took her to Soundview (of course during early afternoon and gave the cabbie an extra $20 bc he thought it was a jack move) and she said it didn't look that bad...I told her when I lived there it was urban decay...now it is cleaner and it looks like bourgeois compare to back then.

Thats what I have been told. Basically Scott was a real OG not like some of the rappers now who are straight pussies and act gangster. D-NIce was just like a regular dude and when he got pressed he ran to scott to back him up. He just expected these guys to back down and that was it. He didn't expect them to start shooting lol. Yah KRS is one of the GOATs. Great lyricist and great flow.

Man tell her back in the cocaine cowboy days the most murders MIA ever had was 600 something. We almost had 3000 in 1990 and we broke 2000 9 years in a row. Hood legend Peter rollack pistol pete is from soundview and started up one of the strongest sets in the nation in that not so bad building. That said though polo grounds had the highest murder count of any PJ in NYC back in the 90s.

I heard pretty much the same. Back then some people in hip hop still had to hold down regular jobs bc they were getting robbed by the record companies. Like MC Serch said..."you get a box of Newports and puma sweats...****!"

Yup thats what I heard too. Think about Mase was the first rapper to ever get a million dollar contract and that wasn't until the late 90s. That is crazy. I remember when I was a kid Mase was walking around like a celebrity. He was almost as big as the drug dealers until he got to ****y and banged Baby Maines girl. Next thing I know he ran tf out of NYC and became a pastor. Never came back to NYC until after Baby Maine got killed and his cousing Max B squashed it with him and got locked up himself.

Shan came out with the Bridge, BDP came back with South Bronx and then Shan came back with Kill That Noise where he denied saying that it all started in Queens.

LL came out with Rock the Bells and. Shan came out with Beat Biter claiming he stole his beat. I think after that he got tore up. I remember Kool Moe Dee and LL going at it. LL had Jack the Rapper or Ripper but I thought he got rocked with Let's Go by Kool Moe Dee. Dee was really old school. He was around a long time. Big Daddy Kane-Raw, Ain't No Half Steppin, Set it Off-classics.

Prince Paul and Daddy O both came out of Stetsasonic. Both had sucessful careers producing.
