Interesting, what has Rhule done that Franklin can't do? You fire Franklin to go after a guy who has shown he can take your program to the next step, Rhule is essentially a lateral hire in my mind.

I can't remember the thread on r/cfb on Reddit where I saw it, but an Indiana fan said that every single athletic scholarship for every sport at Indiana is fully funded by boosters/private donations. Not a single dime by media, merch, or ticket revenue.

Yeah - had them winning playoff game. He was always overrated but recruits well. I think Penn State overreacted but I am not shocked by the decision.

He doesn’t win big games for all of the resources he has.

Logical choice, but not sure he’s the guy. Would be 65 before coached first game at PSU & Indiana has money to pay him. Franklin situation didn’t happen over night. Big boosters & fans grumbling about his “Small Game James” image for a while & personality didn’t help. Boosters pouring $700 million into current stadium renovation and, rightly or wrongly, ready to move on. Know boosters ****ed after UCLA loss, *****ing about huge salaries paid Franklin & coordinators while hosed by an interim head coach & kid OC.

I know Fred Luddy who founded ServiceNow where i worked for a few years has a building named after him at IU and a department. He's given tens of millions and solid chunck went to the athletic department. Hes with like 2 billion and donates each year.

Mark Cuban's worth a few billion and donates a ton each year as well.

They have a massive alumni base so its really not shocking that once they had a competient president and AD who wanted to focus on Football+ the NIL aspect of it that some of these schools become successfull
